Received mine a few months ago finally had a chance to install it. Took all of 15 minutes harder to get the factory cap off than to install this. Powder coat matches perfect makes the tailgate feel stronger . Don't worry about the gap you really don't notice it . Thanks for a great product.

Avid Offroad Light Bar, Yellow OEM fog lights in bumper pockets, Leer 100XR Topper, 4 Leaf pack in rear, Bilstein 5100's on all four corners, Body debadged with front emblem and tailgate emblem rebadged in flat black.
I received my tailgate cap today and had it installed in under 10 minutes. Basically ditto to what everyone else is saying. It looks really good and has a much more weighty feel to it. I have a Leer 100XR cap and the rear window latched nice and tight after install (I may have to bump my cap out just a tiny bit in order to ensure that my weatherstripping is snug against the cap window). So no worries if you're a cap owner and the adjustment, if needed, is a simple one. I highly recommend this product. Nice work, Chad.

Heh, no unfortunately not. Projected delivery date was today but it hasn't even arrived at my local PO yet. I'm going to put a coat of bedliner on the bed under the caps before I install too. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I can get it sprayed and dry.

Maybe there is a reason for applying the foam to the truck instead, but I stuck the foam to the cap and then slipped it on. Worked like a charm.

Also the cap makes the tailgate feel way more substantial. It closes solidly unlike with the plastic cap.

Did you try taking it off? I'm happy to know that it sticks on well (even in cold weather) but damn going to be a project to take off, then get some more and retry haha

I think if it's not adhered to the paint it will allow dirt underneath between it and the paint. As pressure it on it and it flexes, it will continue to rub that dirt on the paint possibly rubbing through it and causing damage. My thoughts.

Eh, makes sense, but I had planned to put bedliner under the cap anyway. :)
