I'm not much impressed. A gmc motor is random as fuck, suspension is very basic, he didn't mention what axles they are which leads me to believe they suck and the rear may not even exist. I think the best part is he didn't want 5k for it but for 5k, some of the ones out there have a lot more money in them

 

I see 4.3 swaps pretty often, decently stout v6 and easy to find. Suspension is basic, rear is sky 1in spring with a block. Factory axles and rear has factory shafts. I figured worst case if the Detroit took a shit I could just swap the rear end for a junkyard one cheap and run it open until I get money to lock it. I do like it pretty well.

 

I didn't say I didn't like it. I'm just not impressed with it for what it looks like. The motor isnt crap, just not a fan of gmc anything and factor axles are ticking time bombs, although I've seen some run on much bigger tires, just not for long. It's also on 4.10s which is probably why he has broken more stuff then just whatever is wrong with the rear end. Out of the trucks I found, I can't say that one would be the one I picked

Turned out to be a medical student doin neurosurgery and his wife. I figured I was okay when they said to meet in front of an anthropology store haha

I looked at his build thread and it's the same brand I have. I had 25% of my passenger side go out after having them for less than 4 months and now I've got the the driver side slowly dying. So I'm looking for a new brand.

 

Trs just got a new halo design. Supposedly they have torture tested them and they have a very low failure rate. I don't have them do I can't say but I do know that I've had halos in my projectors for about 3 years now and they still work every time

Got the satoshi and black backed headlights in the truck, looks a hell of a lot better. The places one the sides of the grille where I had to bondo turned out shitty but since my bumper hides that part, I said fuck it, slapped some paint on them and called it done. Looks pretty good though. next order of business is projectors to put in the factory lights.

 

I'll have to look in to that. I've got 14 dead LEDs and growing.
