Hey guys, I just installed the Wheelers Steelies found here: and am experiencing vibes at around 55-60 mph. The vibes aren't constant, meaning that I don't always experience them during this speed range. Does this mean that one or more of the wheels is slightly out of balance? Or could it be anything else?? Thanks in advance!

"Raptor Style" grill mod, aftermarket wheels, 265/75/16 Goodyear Wrangler Authorities, TRD Shoulder pads on seat belts, no mud flaps, AVS Hoodflector bug shield *removed*, Dee Zee Ultrablack Bull Bar w/ license plate mount, dipped my fuel door for no reason, N-Fab Spare tire mount w/ full size matching spare, dipped eyelids onto my headlights for no reason, dipped my hood for no reason
Sounds like it. May very well be out of balance.

Quite possibly an out of balance wheel. Generally, if you feel it in the steering wheel it's a front wheel, feel it in your seat and it is a rear wheel.

An out of balance wheel often does cause vibrations only at certain speeds.

But if a wheel is out of balance shouldn't I constantly feel the vibe?

    Not necessarily.
Sometimes it has to be in a certain speed range to vibrate through the chassis at the right frequency.
When I worked at Toyota many people came in complaining of vibrations between certain speeds. Was almost always a wheel out of balance.

If you had the tires installed somewhere I would ask them to re-check the balance. It is a good place to start

I know but I don't always feel the vibe. Sometimes the truck will accelerate smoothly up to 70-75 without any vibes at all, but other times the vibes start between 55-60. I'll probably just take it back in and have them double check to make sure everything is balanced properly.

At least eliminate that as a cause. Start with the simplest first.
