Not a bad option, if they don't mind being the one who has to tell people to be quiet and stop doing having a good time :D.
No commute and no conflicts with holidays/etc. If I remember correctly the RA's usually just did their homework during their shifts, although they did occasionally have to shut down a dorm party.

She was offered one of the RLC dorms so should be ok. She would get a single and the 10k basically pays for the room and board.

I didn't know what it was but here is their description:What is an RLC?

Residential Learning Communities (RLCs) give students the opportunity to connect their academic goals with their co-curricular interests. Each RLC partners with faculty from the university to create a true learning environment conveniently located in a residence hall community.

    Honors, ’12

Honors: The Honors Residential Learning Community is a cohort of students accepted to the Honors Program. Students live together in a community of scholars who have a mutual interest for striving in academic excellence

    Work.

My company offered me a promotion to go. Probably be there for 2-4 yrs. Going to make the best of it and see as much of the SW as we can.

I can still ski, hunt, golf and fish in AZ so I am looking forward to a change.

I really miss the 36 gallon tank that my ol Cummins had. Could go 4 weeks without refilling. The Tacoma is every 1 1/2 weeks, possibly 2 if the weather is warm - same commute.

As for running low on fuel, I used to work at VDO (when those bastards had a plant in CT) and they had started making resistor elements for their fuel pump. You really need to keep fuel in the tank to cool the pump. I was amazed how hot they would get and not ignite the fumes. We're talking... ouch, that's hot...

Mine waits for the light to come on too. She usually tells me a few days after it's been on.

She must not have much of a commute, then, if she's able to drive a couple of days with the fuel light on...

    Sorry.

"OH MY GOD! THEY'RE MAKING ANOTHER LEFT HAND TURN!! DID YOU SEE THAT?!! HOLY SH*T!!"

I just don't find it entertaining to watch. Just as well; Football sucks up enough of my Sunday productivity without getting into Nascar too :D

I get what you are saying, but I could honestly watch NASCAR and somewhat enjoy it. With all the on-board cameras and computers they are equipping the cars with, it is now a little more exciting than the old days of watching them from the sky making the same oval over and over again.

Not a major veer, but that is the one gripe I have with hockey. For some reason it still feels like I am watching a game from 1985. I know they cant really change the camera angle, but there never seems to be an update other than the on screen stats and percentages. Eh, maybe I am being superficial with it all...

The instant replay is a LOT better now than it was in 1985. Or at least I assume it is; I wasn't watching much for TV in '85. :notsure:
