I will be checking out these 17" Toyota wheels on Friday. I plan on putting them on my '05 DC to replace my 17" five spoke wheel & was told they are the same bolt pattern (6x5.5). I have used the search function & Google to try to figure out what these wheels are off of or even look at them on a Taco (plenty of FJ wheels on Taco's but not these, why?). So far it looks like they might be for a 4Runner

Has anyone ran these on a 2nd Gen?

Are there any negatives or "watch outs"

Are 4Runner wheels in fact the same bolt pattern as our 2nd Gen's?

Is it a sin to put 4Runner wheels on 2nd Gen's?

Any help/advice or opinions are welcome

    Thx in advance
    David

Oh yea…they are asking $650. Is that a fair price?

They look crazy nice in the pic. Is that what they look like in person?

A sin to put them on? Who cares what someone says, I'm with you on this one. Those are some good looking simplistic rims. Hopefully someone chimes in here with some info for you. Best of luck, post some pictures if you purchase and have mounted.

    stock for now
Theyre some pretty slick rims. Ive never seen them before. Rules with rims are if you think there badass then you go ahead and rock them.

As far as i know most 4 runners have the same lug pattern, but it wouldnt hurt to do a test fit. Just have the jack ready. That way you can also get an idea of the offset is any different that your stock 17s.

650 seems mabye a little high in my opinion. But i honestly dont know what kind of wheels they are.

Wow! Thanks for all the responses on this matter fellas. U guys nailed it, 2014-4Runner wheels. I will def post pix if this goes thru

Two details in the pic I posted really grabbed my attention. One is what looks like graphite colored paint on the recesses all the way around the wheel between the outer lip & each of the seven spokes with the center caps poss the same matching color? Second is what looks like a machined face (lack of better term) that gives it that crazy sheen. If that is what I see then I will prob snatch these up quick like lol. I hope it's not just the crappy lighting causing shadows to play tricks on my old eyes.

Pix of wheels like these online seem to all be of the same ole cookie-cutter cheap-o grey aluminum color wheels. I have not seen any with the same details I described online (pls excuse my piss poor description). I may stick to my original 17's if they are of the cheap-o grey look.

What do u guys suggest? I guess I'll find out tomorrow huh?

Those are nice wheels. There is a guy on Ebay right now trying to sell a New Take off set of 5 for 1000.00 plus a 100.00 shipping so 650.00 is okay I guess for an OEM wheels. A little high, but it is your do re me.

I've seen them on Craigslist in OK/TX from $350 - 1200. Are people really buying them for that much, I don't know. There are several nice sets of FJ, 4Runner, and older Tundra wheels that look very good on 2nd gen Tacomas.

Well boys, I went to see the wheels & could not resist buying them. I gave the guy what he was asking after trying to haggle a bit. The details I described are correct & really give the wheel definition. I wish they would've use black instead of the graphite grey but they still pop.

I feel the sting of being bitten by the "more mods coming" bug. Starting with replacement headlights & grill surround.

Thanks again, here is a pic like I promised. Lmk what u think…

    Look fantastic to me!

Only thing I would ask, if I may be so presumptuous, is enjoy them like they are. Don't get all nuts and plasti-dip them............ :D

Oooooohhhhhhh…is that how u guys are getting your trucks "murdered out" (plasti-dip)?

I'm old & new here on the forum but I catch on fast LOL

I just "searched" & found a few plasti-dip threads. I WILL be leaving the wheels alone, I'm really digging 'em as is. BUT I may try to "dip" the front valance & door emblems only (de-badge the rest)

Thank u guys for all the positive feedback.

Those look really nice. I congratulate you for not following the trend and getting solid black.
