All the broadcasters get the same world feed for the tv coverage and what images get shown is up to the local director at each track .

Are you saying you would rather watch Hamilton running around on his own instead of cars farther back that are attempting to pass / fighting for positions ?

and no I did not say I wanted only Hamilton coverage with the field behind..

.... but I do know I have no interest in back markers. I do want to know, when seeing back markers, how far they are behind the leader, not the car ahead of them. If my guy is kickin it, I'd like to see the slaughter #'s, and visa versa, if my guy is get his butt kicked, I'd like to know how bad. I guess, tell it like it is, not sugar coat it. Show me telemetry comparisons of the leader vs 2nd 3rd maybe 4th, on the improvements that need to be made.

BBC coverage is excellent. The TV/graphics is not BBC's fault.

All I know, I'm glad I PVR'd the race #FF, the race was a snoozefest. .... and my guy won.

 

Taken together, it certainly seems as though the relationship between Renault and RBR is on the rocks. Especially when one considers that Honda is not complaining *and* STR is making a better show of it with the same engine! The RBR principals come off sounding like whiners.

The top finishers were: Mercedes Mercedes Ferrari Williams Sauber Red Bull Force India. That looks pretty good in terms of team involvement. If RBR isn't further up that list it is not the engine's fault alone.

All that said, it would be nice to see cars on the same part of the track as Mercedes. I'd be open to ideas that would give their competitors some means of trimming the advantage a bit.

Amazing that the top 4 finishers, 3 different teams were within 1.4 MPH per lap avg...

over 1 1/2 hours approx race time , that puts Mercedes approx 2 1/2 miles ahead , or about a lap as seen in the race

 

With other teams running the same power plant and tyres, clearly, its driver/chassis setup to squeeze that much time...

 

Of the top 5 , 2 are Mercedes works engines , 1 is a Mercedes customer engine and 2 are Ferraris , I would be shocked , as was speculated at by Felipe Massa , that the Mercedes customer engines are exactly the same spec as the works engines

 

If I heard this right on F1 extra, they said Buttons last lap was only 2 seconds of the fastest lap time. So the package would appear to have some giddy-up and with that team and Honda, they will sort it out and then RB will really have something to whine aboot!!!!
I enjoyed that race, lots going on through out the field.

Nurburgring was supposed to host this year , they alternate every year with Hockenheim but Nurburgring went bankrupt and Bernie was trying to get Hockenheim to host this year even though it's not their turn and they just pulled out of hosting it officially , so no German GP this year
