I'm not really to sure. I had them for over a year though, and they still have 50% tread remaining. I just wanted a fresh set of meats for Moab. I found these BFG's locally with 100km on them for......

    Get this. $800 hahahaha

Dang! Yeah that's not a bad steal at all! I'm hoping to get about 35-40k miles out of mine. But who knows I may up size before I get that much on them

Been busy with the truck getting it ready for the trip.

Replaced the front diff AGAIN. Blah!

Somehow on the last time I changed it before Dusy Ershim a couple of bolts forgot to be tightened (more specifically the big Torx bolts that hold the stubshaft housing to the diff housing) and ended up splitting the 2 halfs apart. 1 bolt was completely missing. The other 3 were hand tight haha.

I noticed this when I dropped the skid to change the oil. First out came about 7 teeth and a whole bunch of spider gears. Then about 1/4 of the oil that's suppose to be in there. So up went the truck on
Jack stands and I pulled the diff myself. Bench pressing that cock sucker up and out was a pain in the dick.

Thanks to my friend Addison, who hooked me up with a contact down in Lethbridge, I was able to find a diff the next day. Drove 3hrs round trip to pick it up. Got the truck back up and running on Saturday.

While I had the diff out I changed the u joints on the front driveshaft. Those are nice and tight again. Also removed my diff drop. Holy mother of piss does everything fit nice and neat again. My skid plate doesn't hit the diff anymore and actually "fits".

After putting in the C/O's, re doing the driveshaft, front diff, and upper ball joints....the front end is tighter than a frogs ass. Those coilovers made the wolrd of a difference.

Right now it's just a matter of packing camping supplies and spare parts. I picked up a Asolo Dolomite sleeping bag (mummy) rated to -15*C so I will be nice and toasty at night in Moab. Gettin closer to drive time!!

I think all a diff drop does is change the angle of the diff. It might drop it a little bit (and by a little bit, I mean 1/4" maybe) but really they don't do much. LETS GOOOOO!

Yea my CV angle increased a C hair. But after dropping the front down they are just about straight when the truck sits level on pavement. Even after taking the diff drop out.

Man, have a blast in Moab! I was down there for the first time in February, but didn't do any 4-wheeling. Mountain biking and hiking only that trip. Can't wait to go back and hit some of those trails though.

Hey, any suggestions, hints, tips for tubbing the wheel wells? I need more clearance than smashing the pinch weld with a BFH can provide. You ever come through Seattle?

Once I did my firewall I told myself I wouldn't do it again. Ever. But ended up doing it one more time for a friends first gen tundra. It's a nasty, stressful, dirt job. No real big "tips"....just remove as much of the wiring and insulation as you can and go slow.

If I was you...and needed more room. Id use a bigger hammer haha

Love the build, do you recall the specs of your 5100s? Shock body length and stroke?

Digging that little bed rack you made for the hi lift.

Edit. Digging your whole build actually. Love red tacos. More than pink.
