Well... what to do with the second half of my life? Buy a Toyota truck. :)

I'm a confirmed Toyota fan. Very first car was a new 1986 Toyota Corolla. Second was a 1990 Dodge W150 (had to get the full-sized truck thing out of my system... and annoy my snob Ford tractor-loving farmer grampa).

Third car, and only car in the family at the moment, is a 2006 RAV4. Love that car. Nine years of fantastic service from it. Never been left on the side of the road. The usual Safety Recall fixes over the years. Always treated well by our local dealership.

Time to be a two car family again. She's finally beat the damned Lyme Disease back into remission. So I get to buy us a truck. Hurray!

Tacoma here I come! Great to discover Tacoma World... thanks for being here.

Hey!! Another lady to the forum!!! AWESOME!!!

Welcome!!! Us older ladies have to stick together.... Far too many young whipper snappers around here. :D

We've always been Toyota fans, even as a kid we always had a Toy in the garage. I remember my Dad had 2 of the exact same car for many years. They were 1980 Tercel Hatchbacks both in Blue. ;) I remember the one was 'Fred' - can't remember the other one. LOL

    Thanks, Janster. :)

We love our RAV4, but time to have another truck. Plus, considering a move to the high desert of Oregon (out east of the Cascades) so gotta have something we can bounce around the backroads with... maybe toss in a few rocks that we find along the way. LOL

I was thinking we'd trade the RAV to ease the sticker shock, but it runs so well... and it'd be nice to have two cars again. So... guess we'll suck it up and jump. Maybe we can find a reliable used Tacoma, but if not... hopefully a decent deal on a new one.

Thanks, Chris and Oz. Chris... I agree completely with your theory about how pigs can fly. I've got a print of a pig leaping off a dock, fully stretched out and commited. Total faith in the idea of flight. Kind of how my life feels these days... and, at least I know I can swim. Haha!

Chris, how'd you get your avatar picture to cycle through two photos?

    Thanks, LC.

I was at Vandenberg AFB for a few months of training way back in the late 80s. Spent a weekend or two bumming around Santa Barbara. Nice town. :)

Been so giddy about the new truck... forgot I was even a new member. LOL

I am now officially a Tacoma owner. I had to place an asterisk in my avatar blurb up there... the first time I typed in "owner" it all came back in asterisks. Does owner sound too much like boner?

Yep, the two kids in my avatar photo. :) Although, the other woman in the family says... I have to buy a canopy for the dogs, and so she can sleep there when we roam. The compromise for me talking her out of a trailer (for now).

Thank you, thank you. Now if I can just get over the sticker shock on the canopy for the thing.

Good Karma, maybe? I dunno how I got so lucky... but there she was... sitting there all shiny and everything down at Toby Murry Toyota in Newport, Oregon. Maybe the last 2014? And I got it?

But I don't care... it fit the budget. It's mine. And I just discovered I can buy a horn that sounds like a train. God is Great!
