Interesting article. They point out why the taller telescoping ladder like the one with Tepui tents can save a lot of headaches since the sliding ladders can often be too short. Your sliding ladder may fit your truck now, but if you add more lift, or purchase a new vehicle that is taller, it could be too short. No worries with the telescoping ones.

I'm also surprised by the leaking they experienced with the Eezi-Awn. Granted they have been in extreme conditions in SE Asia and are likely using their tent more than almost anyone on the planet.

Wind noise will always be the drawback to soft shell tents like these. It's all a matter of trade-offs. The hardshell tents might be less susceptible to wind noise but they are usually a lot smaller and offer a lot less room.

It still beats a 20" wide thermarest! And I'm interested in the differences of the summit package.

Thanks again, Bobby. I really appreciate it. The new cover is awesome. I can't wait to see if I can fit some bedding inside with this one. Something tells me I can as the fit is much better and not so tight. I'll hopefully get to use it this weekend as the temp is supposed to be in the low 40's :D

    O.k. Maybe a few more...

    green.jpg

    orange.jpg

    ladder,1.jpg

*These bottoms for the ladders will be options as not everyone will need them. The new sliding ladders will be as wide as a telescoping ladder and also have a handrail system for our older customers and little ones going up and down so much.
*We will have 4 small pockets and 2 large magazine size pockets.
*There will be two 6"x 16" shoe racks for each side of the ladder. (those will also be available to purchase for other folks along with the led lighting.)
*The fabric will be a 320g ripstop (which we will compare)
*2 colors to choose from. Green and black and orange and black
*we already have the large interior frames...so we will keep them
    *Alloy hinges
*We are using motorcycle like straps to eliminate velcro

These are a few of the things we are doing. We may not be in this as long as some of our competitors but we do listen, and make the changes needed to keep leading the way in the roof top tent industry. We do have quit a few things that are still not on the market that we do testing on for awhile.
If ever you have any questions please let us know.

    Respectfully,

    Bobby

    camo? icky

i made a rack for mine, haven't tried it out yet. i bought a gear loft from a discontinued ground tent and added longer straps so i can attach it to the ladder and to the rack/rails. shoes should stay up close under hte tent so they don't get wet and i shouldn't have to remove it when i pack things up

Thanks Bobby. I am definitely looking forward to using it this spring/summer.

One thing I have been curious about is if there is a better hinge method to pull out the support tube for the ladder overhang.

Also, after finding the thread below I have been considering building my own trailer over the spring/summer.

I am pretty sure I will be purchasing an awning soon. Probably when the next group buy is announced.

Edit: Is the group buy going on now or at the end of the month?
