So I've been reading up on the 2017 Raptor and man it's a nice truck. Love my Taco but would love the extra towing capacity. The truck just has bad ass written all over it and I love the new design. Anyone else thinking of making a change?

I would take one in a second.... If it cost the same as my Taco and got the same gas mileage. Sweet trucks

I was just telling someone on a different thread to have gone raptor at least if trading frim a taco. Nice but too much truck for me and don't need towing. Now if I did then raptor it is. Tranny pros scare me tho when talking ford...Fixing Old Ride Daily. Not me....

I only drive a mile to work so not worried about fuel. Would feel much better towing my kubota around. I think I'm maxed out on my weight now.

Buy a new Tundra, spend $15k upgrading everything to be better than Raptor for less.

Only downside is if you wanted to keep the Raptor stock for warranty purposes.

    Profit.

I want a Raptor so bad. If I could afford a $50k+ truck I'd have one already.

Not sold on the new Eco Boost one though.

Didn't the last Raptor tow 5000 lbs...

However, no, you should not feel bad about wanting a Raptor. They are a nice looking truck and the new one will be fast and fun to own.

Raptors don't tow much because the rear leafs are very soft to give better off road performance. They also have lower payload capacity.

But I doubt many buy it for a tow rig.

OP is thinking about using a Raptor for towing... maybe you should read a bit more. I know the last Raptor has lower towing and payload ratings. 3 of my customers have them. I couldn't remember if 5000 lbs was the number but it's definitely lower than the Tacoma on paper.

Looks like the Raptor tows 8,000 pounds. So it is more than the Tacoma.

Other F150 models tow over 11,000 pounds.

Good to know, I thought it was lower. I know one of my friends tried towing his 26 ft TT with the Raptor and he only made it 10 km before he turned around and grabbed his 3/4 ton instead. I think for towing light loads over short distances or a few tools in the back the Raptor would be fine.

It's cool and all but it is unnecessarily wide. I can live with it being that tall but cut down the size...

If I could afford one, I'd have it in a heartbeat. The '17 Raptor and the new '15 Tundra Pro are the only two trucks I'd rather have than my Tacoma.
