I am a reformed Mustang fanatic, I have an '09 Tacoma and the wife has an '07 Yaris. I love the fit and finish on both vehicles. I am however getting the itch to have another weekend fun car however. I am thinking of checking out some MR2s. Any thoughts on these cars?? Think toyota will ever come out with a new sports car???

My dad used to have a solora. He got the 1st one in the US. It was verry bare in the back seat but pretty nice in the front. He had it for 7 years no problems

Weekend fun car? You have plenty of options depending your price range. I'll say GTR if you have the cabbage. If not I would get a 370Z or RX8

I love Toyota's. But, If you want a weekend fun car on a budget you just cant go wrong with a Miata. The early MR2 turbos are a lot of fun to drive. But they are a lot of work. Headgaskets are a common problem and the transmissions are horrible. the 93+ cars have better transmissions but much much harder to find and more expensive. I say Miata if youre on a budget.

Have you ever driven a miata? Have you ever read the millions of reviews by just about every auto magazine produced? They are soooo much fun to drive and extremely competitive autocross cars. The other option for a weekend car is a S2000. the earlier ones are getting pretty cheap.

Those things are still going for 12+ K for a 8-9 year old car. Too many ricers buying them so they are holding value like no other. If you pick one up now you can probably sell it for the same price a few years down the line.

I'd get a S2000 too. Just not that pratical around the city or town because of their lack or missing torque. They need to be reved high or else they feel bogged down, just add a spercharger or better yet a Vortech charger and it's a whole 'nother story.

    I'm still a Honda fanboi :D.
