Finished my boy's truck today! He's still got a few things he wants to add, but the big stuff is done. I feel like somebody beat the hell out of me. I love working on suspensions, but it's hard work.
Anyway, for his I went with Icon coilovers at 3", LR UCAs, and added Fuel Boost wheels and 285/75-16 Kelly TSRs. Looks really good to me and he LOVES it. Just turned 1100 miles on my post-lift test drive.

Did you have to do a CMC to fit those tires?

No CMC. I really don't know why folks have to do that for 285s. I put 285s on my 2014 with OME 3" and didn't need it on that one either. I think it has a LOT to do with how it's aligned.

Well, I just make sure, before I take it to be aligned, that the front cam bolts are inboard. This pulls tires towards the front of the truck. Generally, if the alignment tech can get the alignment right with only the rear cam bolts, that's what he's gonna do. They usually only go to the front cam bolts if they have to. This thinking may be completely off base, but I haven't seen a need to do a CMC. I have LR UCAs on both trucks and set numbers to 0 toe, 0 camber, and 3 caster.

Very nice. That's a good looking truck. That's cool you were able to get it done without the CMC and have a clean setup.

Dayum, I wanna be your kid. At 56, I don't think that's possible.

Jealous, but glad you worked hard to get where you are to give your kid a truck like that. I can tella bit by the house pic in the background. :D

Thanks for the compliments, fellas. Obviously, he is very pleased with it. He's a lucky kid...and he knows it. He must have said "thank you" 4 million times in the last 2 weeks since we got him the truck. He also seems to feel lucky that I know how to do all this stuff.
Driveway looks kinda funny now with 3 black lifted Toyotas in it. :D
