Fyi solid purple wire from the gray solid inverter box goes to the ground. I was confuse, both by this thread and the video. The white cap end is cap off. Wasted two fuse following the instructions. Hope this helps someone.

Now I'm very confuse, anyone can help? The inverter plug solid purple on the plug is that the one you ground? Or is it the one that's coming from the inverter box? First I did the plug way and lost two fuse and tried the inverter box way. The car starts but now no power coming from the plugs. Prior to the 400w mod portion I've tested and it works.

I might just redo the wires and not complete the 400 w mod. Hopefully it will power two tablets. Watched that video 3 x now.

Instructions are not wrong. You are the only one having issues so that tells you, you did something wrong. You having a 2013, well that might have something to do with it.

My advise would be find someone close to you that is electricaly inclined eather an electrician or a good mechanic that's good with this stuff. If you are good with it and have a multi meter you should be able to verify that the wires are the same as the instructions. If that makes no sense to you then seek help from someone local.

There is another thread about this. I did it and it works fine. You really have to pay attention to what wire gets grounded.

Yea, I will install a dual 12v 3 amp (?) USB source above ir below it. I don't like the look of residential type receptacles scabbed onto a nice truck.. And the idea of purposefully exposing 110V AC conductors and connections inside the console seems like a really poor idea. Even with a snap in that has an integral back cover I may still protect the conductors with a project box.

I also agree that a USB/AC outlet is much more usable. In fact, I've only used the USB portion of my USB/AC outlet. Glad it has two USB inputs.

If I grounded the purple wire, but left the purple with white stripe connected. What did I fry that my inverter isn't working any more? Anyone have a link to a wiring diagram for the inverter?

You can go back and fix it. Only have mess with 2 wires per mod. Very simple.
