This is how these threads usually go ~

OP decides to trade in Tacoma on a non Toyota truck or car

Makes thread to tell everyone said event

Fanboys get in a full on froth , circle the wagons , hand out the pitchforks and take turns berating the OP about what a shitty decision he made all the while ignoring the problems inherent in our own trucks

I had a 2011 FX2 (Traded my 2005 DCLB for it) and a 2013 Lariat. Both were awesome trucks. The rear seat is by far the best out of all the full size trucks. They also drive like a luxury car. You will be very happy with it.

They gave me 3 years of free maintenance with my Tacoma.

Also my Tacoma was 30.5k when originally purchased. So a resell of 25k after 2.3 months is not bad at all. Who are you kidding?

I personally love imports due to their well known reliability over American vehicles. That been said, I also know imports like a corolla will sell better or valued higher than a Chevy Aveo for instance. Now cost of fixing imports us another subject matter. So this is why I go imports.

I know ford has improved a lot however not enough for a resale. In OP's case, coming from a taco one would expect that he looked for at least a Raptor. I am not sure you would have gotten chewed much for that. Although taco and Raptors are not in same class. Did i mention i once had to tow a ford out the sand dunes and fear the ford taking out my tranny. This is a Taco forum and your message did not appear as a genuine bye but perceived showoff look what I have now. If you had come across differently then who knows where thread will go from there.
I traded my 12 taco for the 13 baja. I wanted the resale value and agility plus worry less on motor issues cause I don't want my new truck getting torn apart in 23000 miles or less like most fords.
I got 28000 for my traded in on my taco and that I exactly what I paid for it 1 year .5 prior. This was enough to get another taco and deal with their already known problems and enjoy their great lasting motor proven over years regardless of rust and vibe issues.
On the other hand...when I hear transmission issues or motor..that's some scary shit. I can deal with rust. We have vehicles from 1929 OR EARLIER still running our roads today with rust etc...at least I can prevent rust by maintaining my truck. Transmission issues are headaches and when you have to tear down truck for transmission issues you may have to do it 3 times again after that cause it's never factory perfect.
Enjoy your ford. Trade it for a Raptor later for better resale and enjoy ability at least before your tranny is out. You may end up liking the 2016 tacos hopefully Toyota cleaned up previous issues. At least the Raptor compares in durability with materials to endure off roading. It's motor and tranny is another thing to worry. I can puch my taco and still hopefully get 300000miles historically. I cannot say that about the Ford historically. OP enjoy but honestly keep us posted on truck goods and bad.
For some odd reason it does not matter the model of taco..it turns my head. As for ford's only the Raptor turns my head but not agile enough for me. Put a v8 in the taco and I am upgrading. So far my Taco baja edition is stellar and can do jeep stuff and more

Congrats bud on your purchase, you'll love the Ford, there is a reason why its the best selling truck for years!
I get brand loyal, I am a brand loyal fella.. whether it be ATV's, trucks, cars, sneakers, golf clubs etc etc! Owned Fords my whole life, this is my first Yota. First thoughts when I seen it on lot, great looking truck; caught my eye. Took it for a test drive, drove and felt like a truck, even for top of line TRD it was still simple in terms of bells and whistles. Third; after reading many reviews about these trucks they have reliability and great resale..
Enjoy the Ford, it'll serve you well no matter what the haters say..

FYI, Arctic Cat, Ford, Ford, New Balance and Taylormade! Brand loyal!

Who said it was fully loaded taco? It was a Texas edition, SR5. It didn't have navigation, it wasn't limited. Stop trying to make my situation into your own theory. Fan boy child.

Damn ironic as I did the same thing (F150/Tacoma shop same day)..... Opted to go with the Taco and so far very pleased with the decision. The Taco's features, functionality, and size along with a very high residual value for a resale down the road was just a better fit for my requirements.....
And I'm not brand biased as I have had both Ford and GMC products in the past.
