Not mentioned or that I read, the only smith and one of the original owners that MAYBE left NH that I know of for sure was Travis Gregory. The news was all over the web when it happened but, could've been rumor. As of 2012 I know factually he was still there. Granted he was or still is? one of the best smith's to handle a firearm, NH is still one of the very top companies building today with the same 3-4 that left WC.
I think his name is still listed on the supplied test fire targets

 

I'd rather have a Baer or Brown than a Wilson. Am I crazy?

 

None of those names are bad. Honestly I'd rather have a custom Colt.
I got a kick out of manning the booth at gun shows and seeing what the general public gravitates towards...

 

Baer TRS is phenomenal and I paid $15-1600. Brown is another league, but Baer has a lot of options. The TRS is the favorite 1911 I've ever handled, with the SA FBI Professional a close second.

 

I already have a shield though, so I already have an awesome carry gun.

Bottom left was the new G26 the center bottom is rapid fire, Both from approx 40 ft. my 120ish gr reloads in my backyard. Keep in mind I have little vision left in left eye and am still relearning.

Whenever I did the dominant eye test I always end up between the eyes. Is neither eye dominant or am I retarded? I've tried maybe a dozen times over the years to test, and the result is always neither left or right.

I don't close an eye when shooting. So I guess I'm neutral? Whatever it is it works. Always been blessed when putting a handgun on target (except a .40 cal Sig). Not nearly as good behind a rifle though.

 

I would have to reply with, time behind a rifle < handgun. I was just the opposite until I spent as much time behind a pistol.

 

I have a .308 bolt for pleasure shooting, but not so easy to shoot as handguns used to be. Or as cheap to shoot, but this was back when 1000 rds of 230 grain roundball was shipped to your door for $180.

 

Point in case. You have spent more time behind a pistol. Hence the comfort level.
.308 is my round of choice all day.

 

Way more. My range sessions would be 700-1000 rounds at a time. I'd be surprised if my .308 has seen that much ever.

I don't get as much enjoyment from rifle shooting. Maybe in part because I'm not as good at it, or maybe not. Only time I really was into rifle shooting was before hunting season getting the Leupy's sighted in. Only rifle I have ever really loved was my M1A, and I was pretty enamored with a Pre 64 .30-30 Winchester.

 

There is that immediate gratification factor. The target and shot impact is visible, faster reloading, more booms, etc..
And I love the smell of gunpowder on my hands after 500 rounds with a pistol

 

One of the few pleasures in life where smelling your fingers afterwards is acceptable.
