Speedometer Calibration Question

    When i purchased my truck, the window sticker stated that it normally comes with 245/75/16 tires. Because it's a TRD the tires were upgraded to 265/70/16. Being there's a slight difference circumference, does Toyota recalibrate the speedometer afterwards? If not, would going to a 265/75/16 get the speedo to read more accurate?

    Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    No they don't recalibrate and yes the bigger tire size actually "corrects" the speedo (gets it closer to being right anyway).

    actually, the 245/75/16 is a 30.46 OD and a 265/70/16 is a 30.6 OD so they're very close in size. So close, that it would probably be unnoticeable on your speedo.

    I have the sport model with the 17" rims. Checking my speed with a gps my speedo is near 4% off. When I put 265/70/17 it made the speedo bang on.
