setting them at .85 defeats the purpose...
you should have got 885's and set them at 0. 884,885 and 887 are all the same spring rate just different lengths. 885's at 0 will ride softer than your 884's at .85

I wasn't saying it to be an ass. Just telling you that you were given the wrong info. You said you wanted a softer ride for the baby, something you could do is just set them at 0. you would still get 2". pain in the ass now though.

but if it feels good then great! looks good

Everything I read about 885s was "too stiff," "for 4x4s, plate bumpers and winches." No worries. I didn't think you were being jerky.

Will do. There are some that do the 'EBC' route on stock size. Which are a great option. Some of the 1st gen guys can do the direct bolt on Tundra breaks. Break upgrades are more prevalent on the x-runner underground forum if I remember correctly.

I came from a 'speed' background. Have to stop, have to be able to stop, have to be able to stop right NOW! Or the OHHH, shiet, shiet, shiet, Wall wALL WALLLLLL!!! Moments. Yeah, don't like those.

Complete overhauling on the break system was a to do for me. This recent Towing experience @ 400 miles with an SUV on a car carrier reminded me about it. Wasn't towing horses this time and that extra weight of the gear I had on and in my truck really made a huge difference in the negative. Then a pad failure.

Boom, expedited the desire from a want to a NEED. Wife pissed about the cost, then again, we will be alive and the truck will be working fine.

Installed a fire extinguisher behind the rear seat adjacent to the flashlight holder and installed a pipe clamp with the plastic removable key to mitigate tailgate theft.... works for me.:D

Awesome. I have been thinking about brake upgrades lately and was wondering if there were big brake kits available. Keep us posted!

Led interior map and dome light install! Cheap, easy, and a world of difference. Bright as hell!

keep an eye on my build thread. its in my sig. Should have it in the next 7 days. They are hand assembled one kit at a time. Hows that for quality control and attention to detail?!!!

I researched for a long time then stuck it on the back burner. Missed out on the 8 & 12 pistons because of it too. More of a novel item, but all I could thing about was being stopped in my tracks.

Stoptech and the Rotora are the only still produced kits I found . If you have the real-estate behind the wheels, I say go as big as you can.

Safety is the main concern. Stopping power is safety in my book. We are turning our vehicles into armored vehicles. Why not beef up the critical parts that help us deal with all that extra weight.

The one to get is the TRD 4-Pot for the FJ, as it's made by Stoptech.
