Yikes that's high! My guess is someone not familiar with the market will buy it.

If it were a 4x4 here, it'd sell for about that without a problem I bet.

But not a PreRunner. Good luck giving one away here. I have no idea what the market for them is down south.

I see them every once in a while during the summer, but that's about it. Not much point in having a 4x2 here. Now that i think about it I'm not sure I've ever seen one sitting on the dealers lot.

I've never actually seen a PreRunner. Only 2WDs I see are 5-Lugs and they are almost always fleet vehicles.

i've only seen 1 where i live. Imo a 4x2 truck where i live is about a half a step above useless.

Yep. It'll sell. People pay new prices for a used truck here all the time. There was even a thread here where a guy bought a used truck, and was asking some questions about it. Previous owner who bought it new and traded it in commented in it, and turns out he paid less new, then the guy who bought it used.

    I'm also in Western MA.

I've been so happy to have that 4WD switch in quite a few snowstorms this winter...and that's even with running brand new snow tires on my truck.

    ANNNNNnnnnnnnnnnnnnnDD

    LIES

that truck has a safety recall that has not been done
Toyota doesn't notify carfax of anything, so that carfax crap is exactly that..CRAP

Safety Recall E02 (E12) Preliminary Notification - Certain 2005-2011 Model Year Tacoma Pre-Runner and 4x4 Vehicles Rear Leaf Spring
    Status
    Remedy Not Available
    Description
The subject vehicles’ rear suspension system contains leaf springs that are constructed of either three or four leaves. There is a possibility that a leaf could fracture due to stress and corrosion. If this occurs and the vehicle continues to be operated, the broken leaf could move out of position and contact surrounding components, including the fuel tank. If the broken leaf contacts the fuel tank repeatedly, it could puncture the tank and cause a fuel leak. In the presence of an ignition source, this could result in a fire.
    Remedy

Toyota is currently preparing the remedy for this condition.

I actually have no intentions of leaving. I love it here. In the next couple years I want to buy a house on a few acres in one of the more rural areas and live there forever.

Anyone who hasn't had their frame replaced hasn't had this recall done either. Toyota has yet to do anything permanent. Not the dealer's, nor the truck's previous owners fault.

    yep it will probably sell.

I don't get it though. Some people would rather pick a used one with over 100k miles than a brand new one for a couple of grand more. With the so little difference in price between a used and new one, it makes more sense to buy a new one.
