    Hi everyone,
I was sooo happy to be able to get my mom out of the house and out and about. My brother and I did a trip to Big Bear with it being our very first "off roading" experience not knowing what to really expect... well, I figured taking Big Pine Flat Trail was not going to be "dangerous" (i.e. my mom is basically handicapped from a stroke that she had a few years back). I watched quite a bit of U tube vids and researched quite a bit before doing the trip. The only thing I didn't have was the trail map, which you get at the Discovery Center, north of the lake about a 1/4mi west of the ranger station. We took 3N14 to 3N16 and followed it until we ended up at Hwy18 and just went back home from there. My mom had a BLAST, but the poor thing was still beat-up from the trail. She still had quite a bit of fun and enjoyed the scenery quite a bit... she loved the "snowed" areas... small patches that we would pass by. Just absolutely LOVED the trip and it went together quite well. My next planned trip for her is, hopefully, Lake Tahoe area and/or Sequoia National Forest. I need to find out information for motels/hotels... mainly for my mom, but that's still quite a few weeks out from now, hopefully. Anyways, sorry for the long winded "blog". Here are some pictures of the trip and if there are any newbies, like myself, that have questions about this trip... trail wise and what not... I should be able to give my humble advise/opinion. Hope you enjoy the pics people. I'll post a pic of the route we took... I'm on my lunch break at the moment. Take care and happy 4whln to you.

    W.E.C.

BTW, I could use some trail advice for Lake Tahoe and/or Sequoia National Forest (i.e. very, very mild trails so I can take my mom on it) and maybe motel/hotels very near the area. If not, that is okay... I don't expect anyone to do any research for me... I would appreciate some help though... thanks guys/gals.

This looks like it was a blast and the look on your mom's face is priceless. I know she may not be up for any major wheeling weekends but I bet if you put suspension under your ride and made it a bit less harsh of a rode for her she could do alot better and stay out longer to enjoy more trails and such just a thought. I love what your doing for your mom bro it means alot and I look up to that for sure. Love always prevails bro just make sure she has a great life with loving family and do what you can to ease her pain. Your a good dood man and I wish nothing but the best for you give my blessing to your mom and take care randy we will see you around again soon I'm sure

LOl. I see what you did there!

Yeah, definitely you're going to want to do King all around, get you a 9 leaf pack, that should certainly help out with the comfort factor. A good way to make the day shorter is to get around faster, so I'm going to say you absolutely need boost get an SC under that hood. Sun can be hell on the eyes, let's get limo tint for sure. Planning on stopping for a lunch picnic? Gonna need an RTT for that, also probably a swingout spare tire holder, which means rear plate bumper which means front plate bumper to match, gotta have sliders with grip tape (makes it easier to get in the truck) and probably skids so there's no way in hell you get stranded. Does your mom like video games? Of course she does, so we'll put a gatling gun on the hood and she can play real life Cabela's big game like a boss. What am I forgetting?

Haha I think that just about does it except for the bed couch mod for when the seats get too hard and your mom is uncomfortable or better yet just do the buy your mom a full on race truck mod and she won't feel any bumps at 100 mph
