    Looked at this truck tonight. Was a turbo factory in 1987? Not sure this is on the correct board.

    1987 toyota tacoma odometer: 120000 paint color : grey type : pickup drive : 4wd fuel : gas transmission : manual title status : clean cylinders : 4 cylinders
    condition: good

    $ 7,000.00

    Needs some bodywork on the bedsides, but frame looks solid. Needs inspected and a wiper motor. When it's all done might be out of the boys budget.

    Seems high in price, around here I've seen similar or better go for under $5000. Too rare to maintain and the turbo is crap. For crawling the setup will run too hot. Power wise it's 20hp over the standard 22re but both are still under 140 hp.

    Brings back fond memories of my 86 Turbo. I loved that truck :), drove the hell out of it and sold it with 450k on it. Never had an issue with it except it needing valve seals every 150k or so, got pretty good at it. Pulled the turbo to rebuild it at 385k and it was in good shape but did it anyway.

    That's not a Tacoma. Tacomas came along in 1995. It's a Pickup. Yotatech has better info on those years. IIRC all the factory Turbos were automatics. Maybe that's just the 4Runners. They seem to be a bit finicky judging from turbo threads on Yotatech. I'd rather have a normal 22RE with 5 speed.
