I like the width. But 6 rounds of 9mm isn't particularly reassuring to me anyway.

 

Eh, +p+ 9mm is pretty close to .357 mag, and you wouldn't think twice about packing a 357 wheel gun around.

Buffalo Bore 9mm +p+ is 115 grains and goes 1426fps with about 500 ft lbs of muzzle energy

Federal .357 Magnum JHP 125 grain goes 1,450 fps with 584 ft lbs of muzzle energy

I ccw a 9mm 90% of the time and am as comfortable with it as anything I own.

 

Maybe it was the combo of 6 rounds that made me kinda meh.

 

Normally I agree with you on stuff but I'm gonna disagree here. Not that your facts are incorrect, the numbers look right.

I wouldn't dream of carrying +P+ ammo in a subcompact 9mm though.

Handguns suck at killing things, period. Most things that need to be shot with a handgun are going to require multiple hits to go down. On that note I want quality ammo that I can shoot as quickly as possible to get that second, third or even sixth hit.

Little guns suck to shoot. They really suck to try to shoot quickly. And they super mega hella suck donkey balls to shoot quickly with really hot ammo.

I tried a Bill Drill (6rds on an USPSA target from 7yards) with my Glock 35 that I shot in USPSA and 3Gun, my G19 and an LC9. With my 35 I could consistently hold .15 shot to shot splits, my19 was a little slower in the .17-19 range. It was all I could do yo keep that damn LC9 on target while pulling 25ish splits with Winchester White box 115grn ball. And I'm not a bad shooter at all. With +P+ I bet that would go to the mid .30s. Personally I would rather get another hit or two in less than a second than hit less with more velocity.

Of course there are limits to this or I'd carry a .22.

 

Always carry a reload, no mater what you're carrying. In the case of a single stack sub compact, I might carry two. Even if one was on my belt and the other just in my pocket.

 

This I get and agree.

 

Is it a full size gun? No.
Is it better than nothing? Yes.

I'm always interested in a quality option.

That's the thing... most of the time I have a full size pistol on me, but there are times when it would be nice to not have to deal with it and just have a pocket gun. Sure, you lose effective range and have to get up all close and personal, but it's still a force multiplier. I can see the allure of a skinny 9mm for sure, and I think Glock will sell the shit out of them. The argument against it begs the question, why carry a pistol at all? Why not have an SBR in a backpack with a few 40rd Pmags? Would the time it takes to get on target be a factor? Then, if that's the case, wouldn't having that single stack in your dominant hand front pocket be faster than nearly any other concealed placement? Also AR's are better than AK's and Glocks suck.

But I wasn't intending to speak in generalizations which is why I typed "for me.." Instead of a drawn out why, I've deleted it all and will just post this.

For me, 6 rounds in a defensive weapon doesn't cut it, which is why I wouldn't carry a revolver either at least as a primary CCW. You can load yourself with spare mags, but if a few extra bullets allows me to stop a threat without the need to reload then I am all the better for it. I'd rather have that extra second to be glad I survived than spend it on a mag change (if I don't fuck it up under life or death stress) in the middle of bullets being possibly exchanged or whatever other situation that would require lethal force.
