Have you ever taking your swaybar off, and what are your thoughts on that?

Full ome lift, nitro charger sports all 4 corners (rear shocks relocated), Dakar pack w/ AAL, 882 coils, diff drop, toytec 1" shackles, trail gear low profile front bumper, Tuff Stuff winch, bamf sliders, RAT skids, BAMF Bed Rack, Tepui Kukenam RTT, RAT rear bumper,
Pretty sure he leaves it off all the time. I have same susp up front and I leave it off.

Edit: there is more body roll, which you'll adapt to. I still find quick maneuvers to be responsive. Try it for a week and see how you like it.

Yep I've had it off for more than 2 years. I don't even notice the body roll. As long as you don't drive like a complete moron like jberry ;) and take 90* corners at 90mph and then overcorrect, you probably won't even notice that you took it off.

You know Adam, you just made me realize I have never driven with the sway bar after swapping suspension, so I don't really have a good benchmark. Meh.. Drives fine without. Btw the guy that is gonna weld my frame plates on has a sweet 80's cruiser in white. Made me think of yours. Sure looks like fun. Makes me want to SAS the taco :)

Hey Adam what do you think, 80 axles front and rear, chromo shafts, and trussed.
Think it'll handle 40s under the taco?

I don't wheel like a dumb ass (anymore) and don't use a lot of throttle so I think they may hold but I'm no expert.

They'd hold up just fine. Slee offroad built their original "Shortbus" and ran 42's on stock axles for a while. Broke quite a few birfields, but if you went with chromo axles 40's wouldn't break anything. You wouldn't need to truss it either.

You problem is going to be a totally different steering setup on the 80 axles which has the tie rod behind the axle. The only real way to make them work under a Tacoma would be to switch to Hysteer arms (spendy) and better yet use different knuckles to accommodate the arms. Not impossible, but it's a lot of work and pretty expensive.

Also, the 80 front axle has a passenger side diff. The t-case output on the Tacoma has the front driveshaft on the driverside so you either need a driver side diff axle or you need to swap to an earlier chain drive t-case from an earlier minitruck. If you do that, just get a Marlin case and call it good. The last problem with that aspect is that the rear diff is offset, not centered like the minitruck t-case rear output. You could run a misaligned driveshaft I suppose if it was strictly a trail rig, but on the road you'd undoubtedly have bad vibes.

Then the suspension is a whole other can of worms. Do you 3-link and coilovers? Leaf springs all around? Rear 4-link? All of those options would work but for a fully linked set up you're getting pretty expensive. Again, it's doable, just not plug-n-play.

Nothing about a sas is plug and play lol.

I plan to run a mini truck tcase, 3 link front, and later on I'll 4 link the rear.

As far as steering I planned on making a drag link, using a fj80 steering box and getting the Tg kit to make new thicker/stronger tie rods. Why would this set up not work? Thought that you only had to have hi steer to clearence leafs. But Like I said, still learning I'm no expert.

I'm going to try to get away with setting my links up to where they don't interfere with the tie rod. So that hi steer won't be needed.

Adam, are you running the all pro 6" eyelet to eyelet shackles? Im liking their design alot. They don't know if they fit the Dakar springs, appears they do?

Anyone interested in buying a well built '03 double cab that is setup for anything you throw at it? Very possible that I'll be selling the truck to fund a new project. I haven't given much thought to price just yet but if any of you have interest, I'm open to *reasonable* offers. Low-ballers will be wasting their time.
