Welp this will be my last summer in the PNW for the next few years.. Got accepted to Cal Maritime University just north of San Francisco, transferring down for next fall. Ill be here until late August, ill probably drive back for summers but for the most part ill be down there for the next 2.5-3 years. On the bright side though when you guys see my truck next (in person and after this summer) there will be big changes happening :spy:

Right on brother. That stuff has always interested me. We'll have to talk about it more on our next camping trip.

Ha! Have fun in that crap hole. Lemme tell you, you ain't lived til you've lived in Vallejo (if you live through it). I graduated CMA '07 (ME, license track), which, from what I understand, was also the last year of the auto shop club (the new sim building displaced the maintenance guys who then comandeered a portion of the auto shop club building before staging a setup to get the club kicked out). There's not much wheeling around other than the big field over by Target. Used to be that you had time to make one lap before the police showed up. Everything else is a little bit of a drive to get to.

Hope you're saving for bridge tolls, you're at least one, maybe two tolls away from the city depending on the route you take. I majored in mechanical engineering but decided to get my marine engineer license to sail since it was only a few extra classes. I had a sailing job lined up four months before graduation, was on my way to the ship two days after they handed me my diploma. Spent the next couple of years either on vacation or delivering grain to east Africa.

I've been local for the past few years but most of my sailing has been blue water on ships. Most recently was a 65k horsepower boat carrying trucks to Alaska. I've decided that I need a break from the Gulf of Alaska, so I'm hopping over to a different ship. If your friends are engineers there's a decent chance I know them. If they're deck it'd be very slim. The way that the courses and training cruises work out you tend to know people in your division, in your class and the classes two years ahead and two years behind.

Umm... yeah... I'm still amazed at some of the crap that we got away with. I've heard that they've really toned things down a bit.

The reason I was asking is because I'm going to get my speedometer calibrated and to do that they are going to put it on a Dyno. Ahh a Dyno run, I feel it's like taking your kid on their first day of school. :'(
