Yes and no. You could notch the skid plate so the driveshaft freely droops.

No but seriously. Looks good. Can't wait to see the gear you come up with.

Getting closer to having some good stuff on the site.

That's definitely something I should add to the site. I'll take care of that this evening.

I'm headed to the shop to replace my lower ball joints now, fun!

Unfortunately the single cab does not have the cross member in front of the tank that's needed for this skid.

Nathan, I'm currently looking for skids. Do you think this material will hold up for the rest of the "skid plates"? I'm very interested in a whole kit, be it one piece or several, if it prove to hold up. This is a very cool idea.

I'm looking in too other skid options. The issue is that the UHMW needs a backer of some sort. There will need to be some kind of skeleton frame under the UHMW.

How about skids made out of thinner steel comparable to stock, then the UHMW sandwiched on that?

Sorry to veer off from the tank skid,

One last thing, my only concern with skinning the bottom with UHMW would be exhaust heat possibly melting it, and maybe other elevated temps cab/trans/etc.

What are the differences in colors? Also is that one strap hook or knuckle still sticking out below the skid? Or can you strap it a different way?

All of the colors will serve the same purpose. The black and blue are both reprocessed material, but the blue has 80% virgin blue UHMW in it. The red is a high heat product meant for dump trucks carrying asphalt.

The front driver side cam buckle does hang down too far. I will be replacing that cam buckle with a slip buckle when these ship out. The slip buckle tucks up better.
