Went to local FS dealer, talked to the Mgr. about how bad my truck wandered and floated at speed..,told him I was lifted ,larger tires, etc.., he sent his best Suspension tech out to the lot to look at the LR UCA's with me and asked me a few questions...then I gave him a spec alignment sheet I found in Steves(bjMoose) thread here on the best numbersd on getting it tracking straighter.
I asked for 3.2* Caster.....0.0 Toe...and .01 Camber.. Took him about 40 minutes to nail it, even adjusting my UCA's to the "D" position.
Last 3 alignments got nothing but OEM spec numbers.
Did have to re-center the steering wheel tho...Drives great now..

    Nice!
You'd be surprised how many people either sell their rig or take the lift back off because they don't like the way it rides after lifting it (because they got an OEM spec alignment).

Dude..I was this close to trading it in after $25K in Mods..

I've had my lift on for 18 months, and have hated the ride since..finally found an old Tech at Firestone who scratched his gray beard...grunted a coupla times and said...This old dog is gonna' learn a new trick today".....and f****g aced it......I was so stoked I bought the Shop Pizza today....Love my truck again....!!!

BTW..Went to 3 diff Firestones around the city, no one would even touch it....Got Lucky..!!

Wow. Glad it worked out for you. I was lucky and found a post about lifted trucks and the proper alignment numbers (same numbers you posted) so I was good from the get go. Your truck looks great btw!

Seems like an awful lot of negative toe there though, no?

EDIT: I guess not after reading and thinking more

I'm not sure why he didn't get toe into range. It's totally separate from all other adjustments and it's adjusted on the tie rod ends.

I can bring it back for a tweak adjustment...but i think the Toe range is 0.08 to -0.13...so its fairly close.. :notsure:

EDIT : Checked the Toe specs ..looks like the Toe should be 0.02 to .011 Mine is negative biased...I'll get it pointed North real soon..!!

Just had mine in today in for an alignment.. Rode like shit before. Terrible bump steer, tracked terribly and I hated driving it on the interstate.

However, just a quick drive has netted completely different feelings! It feels completely different!

My current setup is as follows:
    OME 885 coils
    5100s set on 0
    Toytec Top spacer kit
    LR UCAs
    285/70r17 Duratracs
    Alignment settings:

    Left ---------------- Right
    Before --- After ---------- Before --- After

    .9 ----- .4 ---- Camber ---- .2 ----- .3
    2.7 ----- 3.3 ---- Caster ---- 2.5 ----- 3.3
    .26 ----- .07 ---- Toe ---- .03 ----- .07

Nice. I was told to avoid LR UCAs because they could easily slip out of alignment..idk what to do haha

A few members, but I believe it was user/shop error. The main nut for the ball joint was not torqued tight enough, so it slid out of alignment while driving.

Although I feel this could happen even with enough torque when offroading or due to negligee of not checking it every oil change.

Horses for courses. The strongest UCAs are the uniball design, no question.

But they squeak and need to be oiled regularly to prevent corrosion and are better suited to a socal desert environment than a midwest snow/ice environment where there's salt on the road six months out of the year.

Are you doing a daily-driver-that-goes-offroading build?

    Or a balls-to-the-wall devil-take-the-hindmost offroad-firstest-and-mostest build?

Mine don't "easily" slip out of alignment; they've never slipped out of alignment. My rig isn't a pavement princess. But neither do I offroad hammer-down-style either.

Planning on telling the tech I want 0 toe, 0 camber, 2.4 caster. OME 3", LR UCAs, stock 16s with 285s and 1.25 spidertrax. No cab mount chop and I currently don't rub with daily driving. I'd like to keep it that way. Anyone with this setup have better luck with different numbers or should I be good to go?

Sooooo for someone with a 3" lift, I would go with

    0° toe
    0° camber
    2.5-3° caster?

I have stock UCAs but I will be making the jump to LR UCAs. What say you peeps?

I know that is the numbers you are looking for with the LR UCAs but not sure with the stock UCAs.
