Installed my first mod

So much win.

 

Mongo1958 is excited to have done his first mod and you guys are all shitting on his parade. Lighten up, play nicely.

My point overall was for the V6, doesn't look like anyone in that mod thread had anything noticeable in removing that filter and removing it should have some effect on filtration of whatever makes it through the main filter.

As for the 4Cyl it looked a little more substantial but I don't have a 4Cyl so I don't care.

I think my main point is without substantiated claims, and just rolling on butt dynos, I'd rather just leave it in there in my V6. Too each his own, not hating, just putting it out there.

I drove a 1st gen for a while and did the elbow delete mod because there were some dyno claims, same reason I didn't do the deckplate mod.

 

Did the same on my 4 cylinder.

Mostly I'm just clowning around. Getting to know everyone. Testing the waters if you will? For what ever purpose the charcole filter had, it's moot and it's gone.
If removing it helps then it does with little effort. Oh, yes I have a 2.7L 4 cyl.

 

Slow, noisy, unreliable and leaks oil?

 

You did nothing for the performance of the truck at all. Even putting a CAI (which our trucks essentially have anyway) has a negligible effect for fuel mileage / HP gains. The only way a CAI has a benefit is if you add a SC. So in reality you might have done a little disservice to your truck. And yes... technically you didn't install anything. You removed it.

It's not a mod but I just installed a bed extender. I have a bed cover on order too.
