New Duratracs after slicing a Firestone Destination AT day 1 in Moab. On the last/first real obstacle on Poison Spider. Nice way to finish an otherwise perfect day.

Very interested in the speakers. Didn't have to use adapters to fit them? Maybe with a new, more powerful headunit they'd be better?

The same shit everyone else has.
    I used Metra 6x9 speaker adapters - PN 82-8146 - and Metra speaker harnesses - PN 72-8104.

Id much rather add a small 2 channel amplifier instead of replacing my touchscreen/navigation radio. An aftermarket radio still wont put out enough power and itll over power the cheap rear roof mounted speakers. The speakers are 3ohm and can handle up to 90rms watts. Ideally, I'd like to run about 60 or so rms to them and a small 2 channel amplifier will do that well.

The mids/highs on the Infinity's are fantastic. Crisp, clear. The bass is there, but it become sloppy/muddy when you crank the radio up. An amplifier should clean that up.

Ive been using Infinity speakers for well over 10 years and have nothing but good things to say about them.

That makes sense man. I'm assuming the speakers have like a way to wire the amp onto them?

    Simple.

Tap the front speaker signals from the back of the radio -> line out converter -> RCA cables -> Amplifier -> new wiring -> speakers

Or I may substitute an equalizer in place of the line out converter to better tune the system.

 Been running Toyo MT's in 295's for 6 years(50k), I think I've finally got full clearance for them. Be interesting to see if these Coopers create new clearance issues
