    carpentry (i'm an apprentice now and want to get my license = trade school)

    i wont have continual work with my boss now :(

    and with the amount of money i make now, i doubt my boss could afford to give me a raise :eek:

    hmmm thats a though one my dad never went to school to be a carpenter so he's not a licensed carpenter but he's one of the most respected tradesmen on the island. southern ontario is a different creature though it would help you out significantly in the long run as far a pay rate.

    not only that but they are trying to make carpentry a 'registered' trade like electricians and plumbers in ontario so eventually companies will have to have licensed tradesmen on staff

    Sounds like you need to make a list with the pro's and con's of going or not going. Will it help you in the long run? What do you want to be doing in 5 or 10 years - will going help? Will it give you more continual work - whether with this boss or another or your own business?
