I tried flashing high beams and the second never came on. They should function plugged up without being installed in the headlight right?...just to see that the bulbs are working?

update: I tried the other ballast on the light and both high/low worked. I tried the bad ballast on the other bulb and it did the same thing (only powered 1/2). Has anyone run into this issue or know if this is a defect or if I'm doing something wrong? Thanks!

I just read the Slimcubby HID review and that guy had an issue with a light not working so he switched ballasts from driver to passenger side and they worked. I've only been plugging and testing on my driver side. I wonder if maybe it would work somehow on the passenger side.

If one ballast doesn't work and you tested the other ballast and it does work on the same bulb you are correct. Send the shit back, get your replacement, be ready to send it back again in 6 months.

One thing I've noticed with theses things: When I pull up behind someone at a red light, almost 100% of the time, they adjust their rear view mirror because I'm blinding them.

Nobody from oncoming traffic has ever flashed me, it's just the people I'm behind who think they're too bright.

I wonder if these in a halogen projector would fix that.

I think that happens with most everyone. My mirror auto adjusts but that is just kind of par for the course for almost any light. I miss mine but not enough to go back. I'm really happy with my 5900k Halogens. They match the color output of my LED DRTL / Parking lights.

It seems like it happens almost every time I'm behind one. I don't remember it being like that before.

Makes me feel like a dick.

More like easy to install. Just have to move the wiper washer bottle to do passenger side. Driver's side can be done without moving anything.

Has anyone had issues with water droplets forming and staying inside the headlight housing when using these lights? Any suggestions of getting rid of them? Thanks

I never did when I had them installed. You sure you've got them seated correctly in the housing? There is no heat given off the bulbs themselves. It is dissipated by the fan in the back unlike regular halogen bulbs.

Pretty sure of it, I was able to use my factory rubber seals as well with some light modification. Could that be the issue (maybe they don't need the seals and need to be open to outside air more)?

You mean the rubber seal that goes on the back of the light housing? Yes you need that.

Hmmm.... Not sure then. The only thing I can think of is something is not completely sealed and has built up condensation inside the housing due to temp change. The LED's themselves don't give off heat inside the housing due to the fan on back of the bulb assembly.

These looked promising until I read the entire thread; now I think I'll pass after seeing all of the hassle everyone has gone through.

Not surprisingly, one of my 70W Lifetime's started flickering last night, so that will be smoked soon, and then I get to go without headlights while they send replacement. This will be my second set of replacements.

    So that's convenient....

Good thing I have another car to drive while the truck is out of commission.

And how long do we expect to keep getting replacements?

This company is going to fold up if they have to keep dishing out bulbs (even though they probably cost 75 cents to make at the factory in China).

Yup... That's exactly what happened to mine. Like I said in the beginning... I don't mind being a guinea pig for a new product but the technology just isn't there yet. I still miss mine but not enough for the headache. My main concern is being away from home and one (or both) going out. I ended up with 5900k halogens and they match my jumpers LED DTRL's perfectly. I keep a spare set under the back seat in case one goes out. I understand having to send the bulb back but like you said, that is inconvenient as hell when there is a Autozone or WalMart around every corner. That doesn't include the 30 mins it takes to install the damn things since you have to move the battery and washer tank to make enough room to work (especially if it's dark outside).

Especially when it's balls cold and dumping snow (like right now).
