Well it looks almost identical but I wanted 4 wheel drive!!
So far I think it drives better than my 2014 did.
Both are 2.7 5 speeds only difference is literally he 4x4 option
The lower gears(although taller tires) definitely helps this truck in town and makes coming out of a corner in 2nd gear unnoticeable.
I also like how much higher you sit and a more truck like feel it has. 4 wheel drive is a little confusing to work but I got it figured out.
I am definitely happy with it and its been my dream truck for a while :D:D
I wanted a 2.7 because of fuel economy my 2wd was getting 25 50/50 driving. I do also plan on doing the same exact thing to my wheels like I had

    Pic of new truck:

Good choice. 4WDFTW. I kinda like the base model decision too.. I went TRD Sport because I wasn't planning on many mods at first. I then discovered TW and I've discarded a lot of the stuff I paid extra for. I'm not sure I could handle the 4cyl though :p

Nice upgrade. You'll only have to trade one more time...for a v6 lol.

Jk. If you had the 2.7 you already know what to expect.

No joke. If I were to trade in my 12 taco it would be for a 15 pro trd. Those are cool(er) in my opinion. I had a 2004 Tacoma DC PreRunner that I traded in for a 2005 Ram. I traded that in for a 2007 Ridgeline that I drove till 2012 when I bought my current OR. I like it and have no intentions of letting go of this one. I still miss that '04 though. It would have been perfect for my son. :(

Did something similar in January. Traded in my '05 ACLB 4cyl. 4x2 MT for an '08 ACLB V6 4x4 AT. Then I proceeded to find this forum and run up my CC bills!!! OME (Heavy) suspension kit, ARB bumper, M8000 winch, skids, and sliders!!! Now than I'm writing it down I may have gone a bit overboard :notsure:

Good thing I signed up for that Chase Slate card, 15mo. 0% interest on purchases. Nothing better than 0% financing IMO. I have the money but why not pay it off over a longer period of time. Partially how I was able to rationalize all these mods at the same time.
