Hello, I have a 2003 toyota tacom extra cab with a 3" tuff country lift on it. I need to replace the struts and the shocks. I know I can use a stock sized strut for the front but the back should have a shock that's a bit longer for a bit more travel as with the stock shocks I believe there is only 1" of down travel in the back.

I spoke with tuff country and they informed me that the rear shocks should be 26.5" extended and 16" collapsed. Can anyone suggest a brand and model for struts and shocks. I don't do anything crazy in the truck (like a lot of offroading) but will on very rare occasion mess around on a dirt road. Thanks.

Oh, I did look through the faq's and did search but this is kind of a specific question that I didn't find the answer to. :/

I have a 3" tough country lift on it and that's why I was looking for rear shocks that are longer (26.5" extended and 16" collapsed) than the stock ones. I do need to put new shocks/struts all the way around I just figured that the struts would be stock length and would be easier to spec out.

Can anyone else give a bit of advice? In all honesty I have no problem installing any of this stuff myself I just would like to know what most would consider a good brand/model for my application. Thanks.

Thanks for all the suggestions, lol. I guess I'll just go with the Billstein 4600 (the 4x4 site I called said 5100's will not fit my truck).

You probably shouldn't call that 4x4 site anymore. The 5100's mentioned before will fit your truck. And if you go to All Pro's web site you will see they have different lengths that will fit your truck as well.

Thanks for the info. If anyone is curious, it seems the only people Bilstein make the 5125's for stock height applications is RCD. One of their resellers is Down South Motorsports. Went ahead and got the set from them. They were $373 shipped and I got them in two days.
