No ones mileage is going to be the same, as conditions, driving style, loads, etc., are all different.

My 6speed averaged 14.8 over 2.5 years of driving.
It had a 2" lift and 265/70/17 tires.

sold it because I could barely break 200 miles/tank. I had a lot of tanks 13-14mpg. Only 1 tank above 18.

I get a consistent 18.5 when it's mostly highway, engine usually around 3k going around 75-80mph.

When I use it for around town going stop light to stop light its more like 15 mpg..

The transmission doesn't make much difference to the mpgs despite what people think, so when joe schmo chimes in saying he gets 22mpg in his auto he's probably driving like he has miss daisy in the truck. In my experience driving an auto tacoma the MPG's were identical to the manual.

In 8 years my 6spd averaged 18.57mpg. That's over everything, from brand new to the day I sold it, high speed trips on highways to city driving, hauling nothing to the rare occasion I pulled a trailer or hauled some firewood.

I have a spreadsheet to back the whole thing up. Every single time I filled up I wrote down the odo, trip, reset the trip, and put those numbers into a log.

I get between 14-16 in town and 18 on highway going 70. Best I've ever gotten was 20 on a rural highway going 60-65 mph. My truck is all stock minus a camper shell.

For comparison, my PreRunner, V6 6sp, has averaged 19.8mpg overall over the last 10 months per Fuelly, odometer corrected via ScanGauge. About 60% highway, mostly around 65-70mph. Stock size Michelin LTX ms2's. Around town, drops to about 18.5 on winter blend gas. The automatic with the .72 overdrive compared to the manual .85 accounts for better mileage, ie at 75mph the automatic turns about 400 rpm less.

When I had the 6 speed I averaged 18 highway and 15-16 around town.

    My auto averages 22 highway.

For comparison, as seen in my Sig the auto does quite a bit better for fuel.

Trucks both had the same size tire/lift and both had a canopy.

Automatic is 2.2mpg better about 45miles/tank.

I average around 20 mixed driving with a high of over 24 HWY. I calculate mine out so it is actual MPG.

Haven't checked in a long time but 15-16 average. Even if its only city or highway on a tank it doesn't seem to vary much from that.

Mixed town/ highway/ mountain driving. I'm calculating for tire size difference, but using the odometer not gps for distance.

I'm averaging 14.7mpg- 2" OME lift, LT265s load range C, camper shell, ARB w/ winch. I use a GPS and an Ultragauge to help monitor it.

I average between 16-17mpg on real gasoline.
