I was eyeing that alum skid and planned to modify my stock sport strap by drilling into it and welding some bolts but Nathan's option is off the shelf install and includes shipping. Enough for me to jump the gun.

Let's not forget about the unsatisfactory performance when introduced to molten sulfer! And fuming sulfuric acid! That table also suggests I can't use the skid as a tar shovel in a pinch, which could be a deal breaker.

But seriously.. I was surprised to see that UHMW can't handle whiskey. You learn something new every day. I don't foresee that being an issue though.. unless things get a little sloppy during install :)

All spots have been filled guys! I'm truly grateful for the support. I have the UHMW material for the skids and will place the order for the necessary hardware today. My router bit bit the dust today so I will be cutting the skids early next week. After I have all the components I will contact everyone for the final payment and shipping details.

    Thanks again!

    Nathan

That's correct. I'm waiting on the straps and hooks to come in at the moment. When they arrive I'll package everything up and send them out.

Question Nathan, what are the details on the straps? How will they hold up over time after going through water and mud? Will they deteriorate quickly or are they made from a special material?

The strap material is 2" polyester webbing. The polyester webbing is much stronger and more resistant to abrasion that your standard nylon webbing. I believe the webbing is good to 500 degrees as well. I don't see any long term issues with the webbing. Care and maintenance is important though. If you cake the straps in mud, be sure to wash them off with the rest of the truck.
