I just got back in from doing this mod. It worked perfectly on my 2015 TRD off road dcsb.

Thanks OP for the awesome write up!

Yeah I love the mod. I actually didn't even read the how to part. I just looked at the pictures and did the same thing I saw. The hardest part was driving to autozone to get wire and connectors.

I just wanted to give everyone that has done this mod a heads up. This isn't a serious problem by any means but it could happen to you. I guess it is my fault and or everyone has been lucky for this not to happen, idk.

Anyway, I did the mod exactly as shown and everything worked perfectly. I drove my truck last night and noticed my fog lights weren't coming on. So I pull into a car wash and check all the connections. I noticed the large relay was loose. I pulled it out to check. It was then that I noticed that the male connector on the large relay that gets the male jumper from the small relay had been shoved up inside the large relay a little thus breaking connection on that terminal.
Ok so simple fix, I used pliers and pulled the large relays male post back to where it is supposed to be. Then I cut the male fitting off of the jumper wire and stripped it. I basically stuck the wire through the hole on the male connector, wrapped it around and plugged the relay back in.
Problem solved. So basically when I did the mod, the jumper wires male connector that gets bent and put down inside of the large relays terminal went down inside farther than I thought and shoved the relays fitting up inside of it.

Yeah you gotta watch out when putting the ac relay back in its socket cus of the extra width of the extra connector. You could always reach down in the socket and bend the female connector a little wider.

I finally did this mod the other day since it actually got above 40 degrees out. Super easy. I think the hardest part was trying to figure out how to get the cover to the relays off

So my 2015 has the relays labeled as shown. Safe to say the "AC SKT" is still the relay for my inverter?

Well, mine didn't work so hot. When I finally got all the wires hooked up, as per the first post, fogs didn't work at all. Put everything back to factory, fogs still didn't work. Checked the fog fuse: blown. Replaced fuse, everything fine. So something I did blew the fuse. Not sure what. Unless it had something to do with hitting the switch for the inverter, for the bed 400w outlet.

This is my first mod for my Taco ( 2013 DCSB ).
I have zero experience with any electrical repairs in any cars.
All went smooth and it works great !!

    yup.

Must of shorted something out when you were plugging things in. If you do it properly there is no harm to anything.

Also glad to hear others have found use for my mod!

I probably should have disconnected the ground. I knew better. Was just lazy. I kept all the wires and clips. Except for one that pulled off when I was disconnecting it, that is. I'll probably try again once I can get another fuse (I case I blow it again!), and clips that are closer to the correct size.

Wasn't saying your mod was bad; just my implementation was bad.

Well, I did the mod a couple of days ago, and said all went smooth.
It took me a day to notice that my inverter did not work.
I checked the inverter fuse (100amp position 37) and it was not blown.
Then I started backtracking and pulled the inverter relay (that I had picked up hot with "brown wire").
The relay pin had pushed back into the relay itself and I remembered that this had happened to another member. I did what other guy did and pulled the pin back out of the relay and was careful when plugging it back into place.
Everything went back to normal and inverter and Foglight mod are working fine. YAY!

Best cheap mod ever! Took me all of 15-20 min and works great.
