Hey guys, I recently bought a all stainless steel portable grill from Sam's Club. For $99 + tax it was a sweet deal that I couldn't pass. Right now I'm looking for a safe way to secure a 20 pound propane gas tank in the bed of the Taco, preferably close to the tail gate so I can use the grill in the gate or in a table next to it without having to take the tank from the truck. Any one has a similar setup as the one I'm thinking??? Thanks in advance!!!

If you're just worried about it tipping, they fit in a milk crate.

I have had good luck using plastic milk crates to move propane tanks in the
back of my truck you can use ratcheting straps or even long zipp ties to
    help secure it

Pretty much what I was thinking. Just some flat stock steel with a hole to mount to the bed rail. Then secure the tank to the bracket with ratchet straps. Possibly use those bolts for the cubbies like some folks do.

Use a couple of these to secure the milk crate.

If you decide later on to permanently attach a tank you may want to look into the older VW Westfalia LPG tanks that were made to be mounted under the VW chassis.

I'm still on the fence about it as I don't know if I want to have it on the truck all the time but it is an option. The one I linked is larger than the factory sized tank in case you feel that you really need allot of gas. We used to grab them off of old transporters in junk yards but I imagine that the days of finding them that way are pretty much gone now.
