uploading pics on FB which hasn't been updated in forever, spend more time in this world. We moved to NorCal a few months ago... took some cool pics with the Cannon rebel last weekend at Point Lobos and the bridge. Tons of stuff to do around here, definitely less Taco's around vs SoCal and the truck gets way more compliments up here.

 

I have 400+ "friends" on FB and I never use the thing. I deleted it for a year or more then needed to get in touch with a local Overland group.

Do not like the thing. Too much posturing.

 

Yea, the whole selfie' garbage irritates me. I like FB to stay in touch with family as we all group chat and plan stuff out on there. Also stay connected to old co-workers on FB, otherwise it's pretty stupid. The food, gym, and dog/cat photo's get old...

 

Theres some local guy who is infatuated with me that has been stalking me on there for years. When you are Dj'n in the Night club scene you meet all types.

I tried, really did try to use FB. Kept getting me in trouble with the wife. female fans were scandalous. I'd accept requests and get all sorts of propositions. Wife finds them and I'm in the dog house. Deleted all the women off of the thing.

Finally after a huge blow up, deleted it.

 

My biggest gripe is the same people on the drama wagon.
"I don't feel good"m,y back hurts, I don't want to go to go to work, my fibromyalgia, blah,blah, here is a picture of a hamburger I ate this afternoon, my cat on my keyboard, I just got back from the mall, etc,etc,etc". Same fckn people.

 

Otherwise, yes. I use it as an mail more or less. Stay in touch with family and a few close friends. Everyone else I could really care less about.

 

That is a problem do doubt... yea if it get's weird, drop it. My sister in-law is a news reporter and gets all kinds of weird followers and messages. You never truly realize how many retarded people are out there till you get in some form of public eye.

This is really the only "social media" I participate in. Forums.

It is hard to discern fact from fiction as it is on the internet. All those yahoos make it harder. On a board, you have others participating, and will call the BS as they see it. people build a community and help each other for the most part.

 

The good thing is you can delete your acct and people can't find you anymore. Your name doesn't even show up. Then a few months down the road or whatever, you can always log back in and catch up on events or friends your interested in.

I've been known to post "I just took the biggest shit ever" in comment sections of whiney people just to get them to.delete me.

Edit: or people that update their status every 10 mins.

I use it but mostly just to share my motorcycle adventures. I don't miss it when I can't check it though.

 

I spend more time on instagram and follow a bunch of car/truck/gun pages for a little visual entertainment

 

It beats emailing my mom or pop when I can just send them a quick message since I only see them a few times per year. Without having to go thru all the email formalities and stuff. Just way faster.
