Numerous studies show it takes 4-5 drinks an hour for the average person to even reach .08. That's men and women.

If I drink 1 beer with my friends after work, I would wait at least an hour after I FINISHED the beer before I would even consider getting behind the wheel of my vehicle.

Now sure what studies you have been reading, but the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse has done numerous studies and have shown that the average male or female can reach a BAC of .08% within a 1 hour time period with just ONE standard drink. That being either a single 12oz beer, a 5oz glass of wine, or a 1.5oz shot. (This is all based on body weight of course)

 

Legal BAC in BC is only 0.05% now
