Only I go thru chains on these hard ass oaks.

 

And my garden is weeds and broccoli. time to get busy soon.

 

I have 4 stumps to remove here soon. Going to cut them down to the ground and drill a few holes in them, then add some lighter fluid and light them up... then dig up the roots. Once they are gone, till and level the back yard

 

Spring peepers? Our canals and creeks are still ice covered. Love the sound.

 

Lots of room, I'm jealous!

 

Got the garden cleaned out and onions and garlic planted.

 

I've got the itch. I had planned on starting some seeds in the indoor mini-greenhouse this past Sunday, but when I woke up it was 15 degrees, snowy, and windy. Kind of killed my enthusiasm, haha!

 

Gotta love Southern California

 

Damn Californians and your early season!

Up here in the frozen (thawing now) Northeast we just wrapped up Maple Syrup season.
I managed about 3 pints, which ain't bad for just 3 taps and boiling in a pot on the stove.





Beats the hell out of Aunt Jemima! That corn syrup stuff is

Got most of garden planted before the full moon last Saturday.

 

The front beds finally thawed out enough for me to dig up some parsnips for dinner last night.
Om Nom Nom.
And since it was in the 60's and sunny yesterday, now I've REALLY got the gardening itch again.

 

Got 27 tomatoes, 2 black diamond,2 canteloupe,2 squash,3 beans,3 okra, all planted before full moon. Drip irrigation going and we just got a turd floater storm last night.
Have 3 rows left. Was thinking more canteloupe. need peppers too.

 

What variety/varieties of Tomato? Not sure works well down there

 

Some heat tolerant, early girl, purple, yellow, orange, cherry and sweet 100.
Forgot names but labels are with plants. Nursery owner pulled all out of trayz to write them down so I have a row of unknown due to labels missing. Workers just count size and multiply.

 

Lol, fun surprise then when they start growing.
So far I've only gotten 4 or 5 sprouts starting in my soil blocks after two weeks. I mixed them from memory and I'm starting to wonder if i used the wrong recipe, haha!

 

I'll try and get some pics . Trying something new for support. Last year was a jungle.

 

The only things I've got sprouting in the garden so far is the Garlic I planted last season, the chives, and the Parsnips that I overwintered for a spring harvest.

Plus a bunch of weeds that showed up from god knows where

 

Lol, nope.
I'm super excited for garden season again, but all of my beds were frozen solid until about a week ago. They've just softened up enough now for me to start working them over and pulling weeds, but it's going to be at least another few weeks before I can even think about planting anything. We're still getting heavy heavy frosts about every night.
