I just recently got an oil change and Toyota told me to change it. I need to make a score line on the dipstick so I can keep an eye on the oil level since my valve cover gasket has gone bad also. I haven't noticed any oil on the ground yet so I suspect the oil pan gasket is relatively recent thing.

I used to have a a TRD supercharger on the Tacoma, converted back to NA when I bought the Tundra. The SC was tons of FUN!!!
More than likely from a valve cover gasket, or the front main crank seal. Since you've cleaned it up, it'll be easier to find. You're just going to have to look from time-to-time and follow the path UP.

Damn, the outlet side of my heat exchanger is leaking. I didn't know how to wrap Teflon tape - For those who may not know, you need to wrap a few layers, like 5-6 to get a good seal... I tried using thread sealant today, but didn't work, so gonna redo it tomorrow with Teflon tape the right way. Headache.

The gaskets are pretty cheap, since you have the 4 cyl the job is pretty simple.

If you have any auto mechanic inclined types that can help I say buy some beer and pizza and tackle it.

If you change the gaskets and change the oil it should be no more than a few hours.

I've looked into changing the valve cover gasket myself and it's a little out of my comfort area. Since it's my DD and i'm in school, I can't risk messing it up nor throwing a lot of money at it but I know it has to be done at some point.

Since the oil pan gasket issue is a newer thing, I was wanting to see how easy it was to change it since I really haven't looked into it yet.

He is putting it right in front of the engine. So space is a bit tight..I believe is the reasoning anyways.

My guess is that it is power steering fluid. Mine leaks and makes a mess.

You also have to wrap the Teflon in the right direction, hold the threads facing away from you then wrap it counterclockwise. This makes it so it doesn't unravel as your threading it in.

Also I usually put a little thread sealant(aka pipe dope) then wrap Teflon around the sealent to get the best seal.

Got my cb radio installed today(just waiting for a switch), does anyone know where to get different sized rubber grommets? I put my coax cable through the hole where the old antenna cable went through.
