Yeah, that'd be it. :D Most have a 10" wide bolt pattern, comp winches have 6".

Both the Superwinch and Warn competition winches only have 50' lines. :notsure:

But yeah, that's where extra lines come in. And if you do it right, you only need it for suck-down applications anyway.

Stuff and things that make it better.
I bought a set similar to this one a few cars ago, so far it has been a good buy.

I shoulda known to text you, doh! I'll try that, so basically I am wrapping Teflon same direction as threads? Not sure how I feel about using the goop and teflon... Guy at synergy recommended 5-6 layers of Teflon tape, said he's never had a problem that way.

I heated the heater ducting with my mini torch lighter and then slide the cb radio into place and pushed back so only the coax 90 was pushing the plastic in. I eventually accidentally put a hole in the heater duct but I taped it with some gorilla tape, I barely use that heater ever anyways.

Exactly, you don't have to use the goop it's just extra precaution. When I was a plumber and did gas piping I did three or four wraps of Teflon then put the goop, but realized later that it's less messy to put goop then Teflon over it.

Thank you sir put that into my wish list.

Thank you sir, I think I actually found the exact grommet I needed, firestick makes it. Although I think I will still get a grommet kit because I will need it eventually.

Alphabravo, If you have the 2.7 chances are the oil pump housing gasket or front crank seal is leaking.....just had both of those replaced on mine and no more leak

I got the elbow and still had to modify the duct to get it that far in there.

Ha I was afraid I was going to do the same but I started using my MAP torch instead of my mini torch (like an idiot) and somehow didn't burn the truck down. :p

Also you are supposed to put both on gas pipes? I was under the impression only dope was needed and that teflon would screw up the seal.

This. To be that flush you need both.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'll go under there and check things out now that it is clean to hopefully find the source of the leak. If it is the valve cover gasket, I'm hoping it is something I could do myself. I have changed the valve cover gasket on my wife's 04 Acura TSX so the process shouldn't be too different, right? :notsure:

haha damn i was scared i was gunna torch some wires even w/ the mini torch!

Honestly for almost any threaded connection i use teflon then dope or vice versa (besides flare type joints that don't require any teflon or dope)

Dammit...I new I should've subbed to the thread...

So the other day I was browsing here and clicked on a thread of some sort. I don't remember the name at all but some guy stuck an led pod in his headlight and I'm assuming it functioned as his headlight. I'm trying to find it again. It was a 1st gen. Any help would be appreciated.

Headlight. It looked like he hacked his headlight, mounted the pod, and sealed it with something. Literally just a pod in the headlight housing. I'm just really, really intrigued more than anything.

Dude dudely, it worked. Teflon tape sealed one side, and now the other side is leaking, so I'll remove the goop and use Teflon tape instead. Good tips... I'll help you do your truck when you are ready :)
