Easy way disable the beeper. Take cover off steering wheel. Turn screws in front (hidden; turn wheel to see) then press sides to pop tabs. Once cover off simply unplug the smaller sensor closest to the wiper/spray switch on the ignition switch. No more beeping

Never locked my keys in the truck with this mod done, guess you just have to pay attention to what you are doing. Bummer.

Easy fix there. Have a spare key attached to a magnet and is under the truck.

im just saying i have never had it happen but it will allow you to lock the doors with the key in the ignition after you have gotten out of the truck.

For me the only reason to leave the key in the ignition was to have the radio running. and i put a switch in to turn my radio on when ever i want.

Seatbelt chime easy. On my 2012 i just disconnected one the sensors under the driver seat. Just unplug one by one and see which one deactivates the chime. Other sensors cause airbag light come on. The right sensor doesnt cause any light.

This is true on public roads. No one knows exactly what the OP uses his truck for, so a comment like that is unjustified.

Doesn't work for passenger side. I know you can remove the buckle housing and permanently glue the mechanism in down position to stop the beeping but i havent tried yet. And yes undoing the driver sensor turns off the red blinking light. Its the little black one towards front next to a yellow sensor.

Gotta love this place. Thanks OP. I have wanted to be able to leave the door open with the key on and some mornings it would be nice to be able to lock the truck while it is running. Gas station would be good too. I keep the fob in my pocket separate from the key anyways.

Does the cover just pop off. I will figure this out later but it is nice to know ahead of time. Never mind just reread the OP.

Just did this mod on my 2015 sport. Very easy and eliminates the other annoying warning device in my Tacoma ( the other being the seat belt chime, long since disconnected ).

So there are no obstacles on private roads or offroad? The comment may not be technically applicable based on use(yet unlikely) but is very much justified.

I don't wear my 5 point harness in the Jeep all the time. There are instances where I will not, as I deem it safer to be able to make a hasty exit. I stand by what I said before about not knowing how the OP uses his truck, evidently it works for him. It's just shitting in someones thread because you have a different opinion.

Shitting in someones thread because I said it was easier to wear a seatbelt than to circumvent safety? lol.
You not knowing his use like I, have no more right or reason to post your opinion here than I. My intention was not to shit in anyones thread nor cause a pissing match with you about someone wearing a seatbelt. Go find someone else to fuck with in a thread.

Damn man, easy. There have been numerous threads come up about this where people say "just wear your seatbelt" when it's obvious that someone has a reason not to. I don't claim to know OP or how he uses his truck, so you're right. I can only assume that it benefits him in some way to not have the chime. Not meaning to fuck with you at all.

So doing this will allow me to lock the doors with the engine running but keep the fob on me and use it to unlock the doors?

Hell yeah, I WANT to be able to do that. It aggravates me that the truck thinks it's smarter than me and won't let me lock the doors when I want to.

Good for you, I see your post brought much wealth to the conversation and in no way intended to propagate the addition to useless information . The thread is now a better place because of your also seemingly personal agenda.

    #hypocracyissues
    #Godforbidanyonehaveadifferentfuckingopinion

Again, there was no specific reason for the chime disable in the thread. Since my return to TW and prior to my accident I have seen those whom disable for legitimate reasoning and those who don't.
