Meant to post this the other day. Had a leaky 5100, turns out it was due to a bent shaft. Anyone ever bend a shaft on a 5100?

Can someone please help me out? I re-booted my CV's and noticed that the seal/flange on the out side of each axle is buggered up pretty bad. I can't find the parts on rock auto and Camelback says they don't offer them separately from the axle, but that seems kinda unlikely to me. Does anyone happen to know what these things are called or have a part number for them?
    TIA

Had a few things i finished up today that I've been working on for a few weeks. Installed new tail lights and clear corners up front, Re-painted grill, and finished painting the wheels. Also finished the cb radio install and tuned the antenna. Snapped some pics earlier today.

yea it's a pretty simple little trick, I didn't know that's how to do it until like a year after I started plumbing and the journeyman saw me doing it wrong and was like wtf are you doing?!? Haha..

Another mod down, my list is getting a little shorter finally.

Damnit, the parts guy gave me this coolant which is not premixed... The coolant in my system now is on the right... Is the non diluted coolant same as the diluted from toyota?? If so I can get to Safeway in 10 mins and get distilled water. Otherwise I need to go down to toyota tomorrow, 20 mins away.

The other one wasn't leaking. But yes, I have said before that 5100s are the most over-rated, over-recommended product on this site. Happy to be on to Nitrochargers.

It's the same, just not diluted. You're ok to use it. Go ahead and do a 50/50 mix with your distilled.

Coolio Thx man. Btw I am apparently plumbing retarded because I just redid the second fitting with Teflon tape and it did not seal like the first one. What a pain. I'm on attempt number 7 or something... Getting real tired of going through coolant. Especially at 27.00/ bottle

What are you trying to seal with teflon tape? Just curious. I don't recall any threaded cooling connections.

I'm installing a heat exchanger for shower system. I understand the threading is tapered vs non tapered or something, and it is more difficult to seal. Idk, not a plumber, but learning lots and lots!

    cool setup!
I saw the recommendation about the application of tape and goop, just wasn't sure what it was for. looks like the main issue is you are out of thread for tightening...maybe add more layers of tape or find a different fitting. Remember you are gonna hit a few psi of pressure when the system heats up.

Noted - these are the fittings that came with the kit so I'm inclined to think they will work, but who knows! I have driven at operating temperature (194) for about 10 mins and noticed no leak on the front barb, now that I have the Teflon tape on correctly. Only the back one is leaking now. I think I wrapped it too much. Oops.

I'm pretty stoked for the final product, hopefully my wife will come with me camping more :) I decided to make it easy for her too by installing the pump permanently in toolbox, so it is as simple as connecting shower head, tossing intake jose into water source, flip switch for pump. No need to open hood or connect extra wires and hoses than the bare minimum.

Edit: when I say simple for her, I really mean simple for me since I will likely be in charge of setting everything up. As long as I am good for something that's aok with me!
