Nice! I may get these eventually as the ones I modded look kinda funny all bent and stuff. Link to which you bought, exactly?

I got tired of clipping power lines myself and chopped 7ft off. Then, I got tired of looking at a cheap looking chopped antenna so, I bought this

    http://www.amazon.com/AntennaX-Off-...7050814&sr=8-3&keywords=stubby+antenna+tacoma

It is a fantastic antenna and would say the reception is as good if not better than the 13 ft stock one.

Chopped 7 feet off it...it was 13 feet long?

Mine looks fine, but I'll take a look at the one you linked there

Thanks! The hole in the center was a little too big so I did have to use a dab of glue to keep it from flopping around on there.

It's great to finally not have to look at that chrome piece anymore.

I don't know if any body knows this or not but you can knock that ball off the end of the antenna. Cut the antenna to the length you want and then grind the new end down enough to fit the ball back on the end. I use red loctite to attach the ball back on. Scuff everything up and put some black paint on it and call it done.

Yeah, I tried that. Couldn't get the ball off without destroying it. Ended up using a rubber end cap that fit perfect instead.

Also adapted a old CB antenna to fit.

Had a floppy. Didn't like it.

Back to the chopped stocker with a custom end cap. :D

I had a bunch of the little skeletons like is hanging from the mirror left from halloween. Chopped off his head, painted black and a couple drops of red paint for the eyes.

I'll have to find something like that to do to mine. I just vice gripped the antenna and another on the ball and slightly twisted til they separated. Ball is on there for now

Hey, Joe. Didn't that topper come with a roof rack? Just curious if you were going to put it back on.

I can tell you that my rack cost more than I wanted to spend. I needed a custom rack however to fit my needs. I would suggest just buying one.
