The dude at the corner market always asks me about beer. "What can I bring in", "what's good", etc....I told him to bring in the sculpin in 22oz's.....he did but with an $8.99 price tag.

I'm pretty spot on with beer and pricing of beer around my area and i thought that shit was way overpriced than it should be.

It's good but I wouldn't say that good (haven't had the Habanero one though). I can get a single 12oz'er for $2.50 by me. 6-pack runs about $14.

It has a really good rating: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/199/29619/

I had the habanero sculpin at a BP tasting dinner last year. One of the brewers brought down a little one gallon keg of their most recent batch and the owner of the pub scored me a glass of it. So, so good. I'm a big fan of chili beers.

Sculpin is like 20 for a six pack here. I've only seen it at one place

I'm a fan of sculpin and grapefruit sculpin (probably prefer the normal sculpin, but haven't had it in a while). I really didn't like the habanero one, though. Choked it down just to not waste a beer, but I will definitely not be getting that again.

But it was my first chili beer, so I guess I'll be staying away from those!

Did it not taste good? Or too spicy? I tried a Wasabi beer, but it didn't taste like wasabi at all.

I mean it tasted like a sculpin with habanero sauce mixed in. I think it just had too much going on. It wasn't too spicy, just the mix of the hops with spice didn't work out so well on my palate, so I would say it didn't taste good.
If you know you don't like spicy beers then don't bother, but if you are curious, why not try?

It's pretty good. I'd rate it an A- or an A, but then I really like a good Rye IPA, so my opinion may be skewed. :D

Might as well give one a try! I would try to just get one 12 oz bottle first, or a taster if you can find it.

Not sure if it's available up there, but if you can find this, it's damn good, and hot.

I like spicy food so this looked interesting to me. I looked it up on Beer Advocate and the reviews are anything but good. I think I'll pass.
