So this happened earlier.....it was a Lubbock Police Vehicle. I am very surprised at how big of an impact it was. The outside is chipped/has a little crater. We were the only 2 vehicles on that stretch of road, at tye time. The "dash cam" is now on the way.

I was about to run a cop down:mad:

I really like it. Makes you stand apart from the rest of the T-Froce packages in the area...(what 3? lol)

But you have lost you Marty look. Time for a new slogan!

    Dash cam FTW!

Look for a simple one. You don't need a whole bunch of bells and whistles, just something that captures "the event" when it happens. Avoid any camera that has "night time vision". This is a joke for dash cams. Even the really expensive ones cannot provide good night time pics. Try to avoid one with a gps tracker. These really don't benefit you in any way as you would not need it to prove where you where any more than the video can. Also it could be counter productive as it could show you speeding (unintentionally of course) prior to an incident. Any good dash cam will record in 1080 in at least 30 or more frames per second. Look for one with an auto on/off feature. The dash cam should be a "set it and forget it mod" and only thought of when you need proof of "the incident". You will also want one that has a display. This will help you with your settings like exposure, formatting the SD card and proper camera angle. Make sure to buy a real one and not a knock off or fake. They are everywhere!!!
Brands to avoid, Sunweb & Baikolv. These have been reported as knock offs of more reliable brands such as, the GW1 or GW1-C for hot climates and Mobius Action Cam, both of which are under $100. Buy a good SD card (if you don't already have one) and format it in the dash cam itself. There are hundreds of different models out there as this device floods the market. Just do your research and don't over spend on feature you really wont use.

I didn't have one when it happened. This happening is what pushed me to buy one. If I would of had one, there would have been a good chamce of having my glass rewlaced by the city

I bought an "action cam", it is a GoPro knock off. I bought it because I want to use it to record off-road videos and am going to use it as a dash cam, as well. The one I bought can he powered off of a battery or an outlet. I will have it up by my radar. I will have to do some work to erase/keep video, but I like it......it will serve its purpose.

It also records in a loop, I think.

I think it looks tuff as hell, still Mcfly with an updated twist. Hell it stands out from most of the tacomas around here, I've only seen one other T-force. Thanks everybody else for the compliments. The stance is just bad ass with the 12.50's.
