couple questions.....

looking at steel rims...... anyone want to make some suggestions on what/where to buy? d windows seem to be a favorite but i haven't been able to find anything with 3.5 backspacing

Mike...... have you had any issues with your aeropress not holding the hot water long enough to "steep"? my filters seem to have an issue with holding back the liquid goodness

what is the interview for?

 

Internship with Game and Fish to work with the restoration of the Wyoming Toads. Gonna be a sweet job if I can get it. I always feel a bit confused on what to wear to interviews for wildlife and fishery jobs . The work attire is wranglers and a western shirt normally. Slacks and a button up would be more than what the interviewer is most likely wearing.

haha yeah, that might be a little confusing. slacks and a button up is what i wear unless i know more is needed. a tie is never a bad idea but not usually required. in my experience at least

 

my aeropress dripps out some while its steeping but I just add more as it steeps and then press it out Need a big mug to do it that way though. Try grinding it finer too, that will help clog up the filter a bit but but I think it's always gonna leak a bit since its only paper

 

Hey man, how are things?

I don't think its a big deal if some drips out while your brewing. If the water temp and the grind is correct, you don't need to 'steep' for very long anyways.

I grind 2 scoops of coffee to a very, very fine particle size, then pour in 175-180* water to the '3' mark and stir it for about 10-15 seconds, then push out the water. That is all the steeping I do.

Some water will start dripping out as soon as I pour it in, that drip seems to slow down when I'm stirring, after that it doesn't matter.

One of the things that makes coffee bitter is too much water for the amount of grounds. That is why filling to the 3 mark is plenty of water for that much coffee grounds. It is very much like making an espresso. After pressing out the water from the grounds, I move the aeropress off the cup and add more hot water directly to the coffee in the cup. This makes it just like an americano.

How much more water? Depends on how strong you like it.

Yeah, I realize that some 'curing' has to occur on the roasters before they get good. I just figured that there would be coffeeholics in the office that had figured it all out and were enjoying the fringe benefits of working for a roaster manufacturer.

7d would be the one to get if you're staying on a crop sensor. Not that the 60d wouldn't be an improvement. But the 7d would be better.

Not sure how bbc will run with it.

i've been good, busy but good. lots of things going on so not much time for TW. also, congrats on the new whip!

i knew it was going to leak a bit because of the design, but i fill to the "3" and it will drain down to the "1" almost before i can even grab the stir stick. i'm pretty sure the piece that holds the filter is locked on all the way and my grounds are about as fine as my grinder can get them. i'm considering trying the reusable filter to see if that helps.
