Pffft. That's my life goal - to have enough money to make people think that. If I was rich, I would beat the PISS out of cars and trucks like that and have the time of my life doing it.

that's what I meant... IF they fixed it. personally, seen many windows changed, never one that leaked. it's not a big deal to seal them properly, especially the rear.

Yea, I guess I'm just bitter about this whole thing. It's leaving a very sour taste in my mouth.

that's understandable - it's one of the largest purchases you'll ever make, it's an exciting/emotional purchase, you've waited a long time.... i'd be bummed too!

caca.......put whatever in the track to lock it and they'd have to break glass to get in, just like they would to get in the doors, only they'd do that first anyway because the door is easier to get in than crawling thru the center of the back window.

OP, I agree with others about getting EXACTLY what you want. ESPECIALLY if you are going thru the hassle of ordering specific vehicle and having to wait for them to build it that way. Why the fuck can't you have whatever you want from all of the "packages" combined on the same truck if that is how you want it? If you are willing to pay extra to have what you want then who are they to say you cannot have it just how you want it? They NEED to sell shit, you WANT what you WANT and if credit/money is there then they need to be kissin your ass to make the sale and be happy you want to spend more to have something just how you want it vs. just taking what they have on hand and being asses about it.

Really goes back to customer service. As a Toyota and a Lexus owner, there is a world of difference in service. I walk into Toyota for a oil change I have to sit in my car and wait for someone half the time... I walk into the Lexus dealer your service person is standing there with coffee and a smile.

My point is I just wished there was a dealership that could just give you what you want regardless. At the end of the day a transfer case it a transfer case. Cost the same to make regardless it if has the Rubicon badge and 4.10 gears.

    And they're right.

The dealer, however can add these items for you. Choose what you can and cannot live with. If needed, have them order the appropriate package. You might not get your price though. They can eat the cost of adding items. You have more leverage buying a truck that's on the lot already - like the one they ordered for you.

If that's the case, I need the keyless entry, leather wrapped steering wheel and the rear window. IDGAF about cruise control...

We'll see what the dealer says when (if) they call me today.

FYI OP, I recently bought a 2015 SR, V6, 4x4, Access cab, w/ convenience package (keyless entry, leather steering wheel w/ controls, cruise, sliding rr window). Maybe Toyota has ceased to offer this configuration, but it sounds more like the dealer is wanking you around.

I am infinitely happy I got a hold of the SR because I didn't want any fake chrome or the hood scoop. Oh, and the mirrors w/ indicators were at the top of my want list- they make so much sense on the highway.

Be prepared to play the game a little, but I'd recommend not being a dick about it. You have the upper hand, they have another vehicle on their lot and they want it gone. Also, they will be hesitant to order you another one. From their perspective, you didn't buy the first one they ordered for you. I know it's not what you ordered, but...

Whaaaaaat? The only difference between your package and mine is the automatic. If I have to go to an automatic to get that, it's worth it.

FWIW the automatic is niiiice. And I have always owned/favored manual vehicles.

My dad had the exact experience as you. The dealership did a dealer swap and came up with a totally different Tacoma than he requested. He just said, "no."

Can you either post the dealer who was able to pull this off for you, or PM it to me? From playing around on Toyota's website, it looks like different options are available for different zip codes...

I thought you had to add the Convenience package in order to get the SR package?

My '14 SR has a sliding rear window.

You have the 4 banger. They have EXACTLY what I wanted, same color and everything, but with the 4 banger. Apparently that's what you can get in MD? Fuck if I know.
