Well who the heck is going to spend all this extra money on aftermarket goodies and not use it for what it's for ? oh yeah "mall crawlers".....which I love that expression by the way . I have spent many years in the desert watching trucks break on even the flattest of ground . It happens all the time because you never know when something will come loose from all the vibration . Aftermarket is not invincible .

I agree with getting pennies on the dollar . My last toy was a C63 AMG , which I spent a good $50k on supercharger , tranny , wheels , suspension , carbon fiber everything I could for weight reduction , among plenty of other extras and was only able to sell the car for $52k

Honestly , the holding it's value thing is one of the main reasons I chose this truck . I am going to get myself another toy to throw money at but it won't be this truck....other than a few small mods here and there :D

I'm saying if you install aftermarket suspension and then take it out and the aftermarket suspension breaks , for any reason , which I stated in my last post about things vibrating loose.....the vehicles warranty will not cover it .

How many times have you seen a lifted truck sitting on the side of the road with a little "gangsta lean" to it because something broke ? I have seen it numerous times here in El Paso , where obviously the offroad scene is huge . This has happened on newer and older trucks . I can promise you that the newer trucks didn't go to the dealer to have it fixed . They either went back to the shops that did the work or back to their homes so the owner can do the work . Either way , the owner had to spend more time and money fixing the problem .

I never said anything about "beating it off road" .

Never had a ticket in that car . Car made 650whp . I can't say I was never stopped by the police but it was always for interest in the car and not for what the car was doing at the time . I even had a local highway patrol vehicle , corvette , pull up next to me and give it a little gas to see if I would do the same . After he rolled down the window and said he just wanted to watch it do a little pull , which I agreed to , we both hit it and I put a couple of bus lengths on him pretty quick :D

I used to have the same problem with all my other toys . I still have parts from my C63 that I sold a couple of years ago . I even ran across parts from my old Syclone , Typhoon and Grand National from many years ago

Old boss had a stock 11' SL65 AMG, he let me take it out once. Fastest car I've ever driven bar none, and EASY ( and that's saying something as I've driven in Vipers , Z06, 911 turbos, worked hot rods, etc, not bragging just love cars that I will never afford ha). I'm guessing the SL65 pulled pretty much the same as your car, so it must have been tough for you to sell it! I couldn't imagine owning a car that fast, it would be awesome.

I'm a big fan of the PRO, would take it over my Limited any day (if $ wasnt a problem). I paid 33,100 before taxes, etc for my 13' Limited ( i know lots of money for fake chrome!).But don't trick yourself into thinking the PRO isnt expensive because you compared it the MSRP of the limited (which no one pays) ,because at the end of the day you really paid $5K more for the PRO vs the limited ( which is worth it though, I like the PRO, I just didn't need all the stuff it comes with, I dont offroad- only beach).

Most on these forums think the Limiteds are overpriced and tacky, maybe, and some poeple think that the PROS are overpriced, maybe. Its all relative and and a few grand here or there in the grand scheme of things makes zero difference to most people, particularly me.

At the end of the day all of us this forum have the best mofo midsized truck on the road , either it be a TRD, ORD, PRO, LIMITED or whatever.

i dont off road either anymore,, been there, done that a million times 30 yrs ago,, i just wanted a truck with a small lift that looks cool, sounds cool, our roads suck, northeast pa. so you need a off road truck just to drive on regular roads..
i traded my 2014 offroad for my pro,, and i have no complaints , had a few with the 2014 offroad,, to each his own.. i have a 800 polaris with lift and big tires for off roading.. and i plan on keeping my pro for a long time,, no since on having a truck you dont like and then keeping it for a long time,, i did not like the 2014 off road as it had many issuses,, 8000 miles when i got rid of it..

I would rather buy from factory than modify.

Sure, you can pull off your mods and return to stock before you sell, but thats a lot of time investment. The used aftermarket parts will still be sold dirt cheap, and then you have to take up room in your garage holding on to stock parts. I'd rather keep more storage space.

Only thing I said "I can add that myself later on for way cheaper" was leather seats. I can do the whole truck for about 1k...so I didn't want to finance $2,000 more for ugly gray leather.

He was talking about Leather Seats....You can get the Katskin Leather seat package for under $1,000 and the dealers charge 2-2500 for the "Leather Upgrade".

Leather/pleather...either or I prefer it over cloth. Cloth stains easy and it just feels cheap. Leather can be hot, but overall it feels a lot better.
