Ahh, but I'm happy with my 2.7. While its not as quick as the 4.0, I get some pretty good MPG#s over the old ('05) 4.0/Auto that I used to have.

Whatever dealer you went to is full of it. I have an '14 SR that has the sliding rear window and all the stuff you want on your truck. Not an AC thou.

It could be worse... I when I was looking for my '14 SR. I stopped at Waldorf Toyota, because the Toyota Inventory said they had an SR but it was sold a couple days earlier; instead they tried putting me into a BASE Access Cab, 4x4, I4 & Auto with Navigation!

I ended up finding mine at Koons of Westminster, and I would possibly go back to them. It was a 2.5hr drive from my house.

I am on my second Tacoma. Both trucks have the slider and I have never opened the window on either. I used it on my Ford Sportrac but it was about a 1/2 width electric.

I went back and forth a lot, and finally made up my mind for the V6 since I'm going to have dirt bikes and motorcycles in the bed on a constant basis.

"Could be worse." Lol.... dude, you had to drive somewhere else because the dealer you went to didn't have what they said they had. I straight up ordered a truck 3 months ago and gave them $4,000 already, only to find out they fucked up the order. I think my experience is worse. :(

How is keyless entry not standard these days...

I too find it maddening that you cant be more specific with features when ordering... there are very little "packages" you can choose from. One of these manufacturers will update their assembly line one of these days....

Make sure the tailgate is reinforced....see bending tailgate threads from earlier models. Not sure that got addressed any more than the sad failing 3 leaf packs ever did until very recently.......

You're going to drop your hard earned money on a new truck and for that you should get what you want.

I was the one who got Relentless to start up the group buy again on his tailgate reinforcement. :D

Couple posts up, I found exactly what I tried to order. Same color, SR package, V6, 4X$, convenience package, etc. Only difference is it's an auto and not a manual. So yea, dealer's head is up their ass.

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
Every car manufacturer is like that.

For example, you can't get a TRD OR DCLB, even if you asked for it.

Actually, I'm finding out the dealer is smoking crack and they actually can order it. Several members here have that configuration, and I just found it on autotrader too.

Just because something was available last year doesn't mean it is this year. (E.G. The '14 Auto dimming mirror/compass temp. debacle.) Also being the last model year of this generation, you may be limited to what configurations the factory will actually offer as they wind down the manufacturing on this model. For your sake I hope that's not the case, but I've seen weirder things happen

Again, check out the link I posted above. Here it is again....

    http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=20878&endYear=2016&engineCode=6CLDR&listingTypes=new%2Cused&doorCode=2&showcaseListingId=0&mmt=%5BTOYOTA%5BTACOMA%5B%5D%5D%5B%5D%5D&doorCodes=2&driveGroup=AWD4WD&modelCode1=TACOMA&showcaseOwnerId=0&startYear=2014&makeCode1=TOYOTA&engineCodes=6CLDR&extColorsSimple=RED&searchRadius=0&listingId=395247579&Log=0

That is the same color and every option I tried to get, except it's an auto instead of a manual. Same year. Same color. Same motor. Same 4X4. SR and Convenience. I think you might be right about the end of generation though....

Call me old fashioned I guess. I don't want keyless entry, power windows, power locks, cruise control or an auto transmission. Those are all just electronics or complicated mechanics that will eventually fail and cost a lot of money to repair. I could see where all those options would be nice if you have a double cab though. I ordered a reg cab with literally NOTHING as far as amenities. Only thing I specified was the sliding rear window. Even got it with the manual transmission. Pretty easy to change a clutch, not so much on rebuilding an automatic transmission. The truck is small enough to where I can reach across and roll a window down or unlock the door without leaning. Plus the wife likes that I unlock and open her door for her...

With that being said, I hope you get what you want. If they messed up, and you can prove it and paid for it, eff them. It is a huge investment and you're damn right anyone would want what they ordered.

    Good luck!

+1. Keep it stupid simple... But then again I was the one that traded I perfectly good 2007 tacoma for a 1999 Lexus. :)
