Ive shot my friends a couple times. Its a neat little caliber. No recoil, high velocity, and easy to keep on target.

But ill let my friend own it. Costs to much for me and the rounds are not reloadable (well not easily IMO) so it has a higher overall cost compared to other "fun" rounds for me

I wouldn't replace a Gen 3 with a Gen 4. I'm not sure what's happened in the last couple years but the first year or two of the Gen 4_was pretty rough in the reliability dept.

I have no desire to own Gen 4 Clocks as long as they still make the Gen 3

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Have had one for a while.

Weighs just a little more fully loaded than an empty Glock. 20 round magazine. Low felt recoil. 7" sight radius. 1911/hi-power grip angle. Good trigger. Very accurate at extended ranges. Blowback operated. It is truly a unique pistol.

Expensive. Prices seem to be in the $11-1200 range these days. Ammo can be tough to find at times, but costs roughly the same as .45 acp.

Be sure to handle one before you buy. The grip is longish.

The Gen 4s that I do own have no reliability issues. I think they had an issue with the recoil spring that has since been corrected. I like the Gen 4s...dual recoil springs make an already easy to shoot pistol even easier. I would gladly trade my 20 and 27 in for Gen 4s if I could.

Didn't Glock change their nitriding process recently too? I thought I had heard the usual rumors that the new method wasn't as good as the old one.

I have an early Gen4 17 and 26. Both had rare brass to face issues which didn't bother me , but a friend who had recently became an armorer who wanted to use his abilities and ordered the newer 30274 ejectors to replace the 336's. I've since fired thousands of rounds through them combined without issue. I have a couple Gen 3's I'd like to trade for Gen 4's too. I like the new grips better.

My truck rifle is in a locked case under a blanket in the back and I've got a cable lock through the action. My carry pistol is in a locked case under the seat when it's not on my person. Truck gets locked when I'm not in it, and the tint on the windows is dark enough that you can't see into the back anyway
I considered a console vault, but $300 for it was a bit rich for my liking. I ended up going with this:
    http://www.amazon.com/Bulldog-Cases-Mounting-Bracket-Cable/dp/B004MC53G8/ref=sr_1_22?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1427385266&sr=1-22&keywords=vault

Fits my G19, my 5906, my Shield, and my Bodyguard (along with spare mags for the Shield and the Bodyguard. Haven't tried a spare mag for the G19 or the 5906 because I don't usually carry one for them), but my 1911 and my GP100 are both too large. Since I don't generally carry either of those it's not a big deal, but if you want to store anything full-sized you'll want a bigger case.
If I lived in a more crime-prone area I'd have gone for more secure options, but the crime rate around here is low enough that I'm not concerned.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
My first handgun was a G19 Gen 3 cause of CA b/s. Then when SSE was about to get stopped on 1/15, I sold my G19 Gen 3 and bought a G19 Gen 4. Don't ask me why. Because my Gen 3 was flawless and my Gen 4 isn't much difference but the dual recoil spring, grip texture and interchangable back straps. If I had to go back, I'd just stick with my Gen 3. The Gen 3 finish was better IMO. Both made is Austria.

Yeah, but the gen 4 has ambi available mags and mag release capability, plus, it will accept the previous gen mags.

Thats the main thing I like about it.

Which 9mm ammo do you guys normally shoot for target? I bought my first 50 rounds when I purchased my shield but forgot what it was called. Wasn't remington, federal, winchester, cci but something else. Going to get some more and was debating between the remington umc or winchester white box. I think most are 115gr, but I do have the Hornady critical defense for home protection.
